Naruto: Ninjas Who Achieved Kage-Level Strength Without A Kekkei Genkai

Often in Naruto, the strongest characters have a unique bloodline limit or Kekkei Genkai that gives them an edge over the rest. With the help of these powers, they are able to beat the strongest villains and cement their legacy. However, there are many ninjas who were able to achieve incredible feats even without Kekkei Genkai.

Many of these ninjas were even able to hit kage level, and when they did, the entire world began to respect them. With that in mind, here are all the ninjas who reached an absurdly high level without any bloodline limits.

Hiruzen Sarutobi was the Third Hokage of the Hidden Leaf. He displayed immensely high potential even when he was just a young boy. Even the legendary First and Second Hokage were extremely impressed by Hiruzen, and as a matter of fact, both of them trained him.

Hiruzen was appointed the Third Hokage in rather odd circumstances, but he made the position his own. Hiruzen did not have any Kekkei Genkai. Instead, he relied on his skills and knowledge to surpass his predecessors. He learned the special techniques of almost every single clan within the Hidden Leaf, meaning he had a diverse arsenal with which he could take down almost every foe. Even in old age, Hiruzen was able to fight and defeat someone like Orochimaru with ease.

Minato became the Fourth Hokage of the Hidden Leaf due to his incredible accomplishments in the Third Great Ninja War. Since Minato did not have any unique Kekkei Genkai, he decided to make the Flying Thunder God technique his own. Created by Tobirama, the technique had many flaws that Minato fixed, making it far superior to the original.

With the help of the Flying Thunder God technique, Minato could instantly teleport to any location that he had previously marked. In case Minato was in unfamiliar territory, he would just throw the marked kunai in different directions to gain an immediate advantage. Aside from his incredible speed, Minato was also an extremely intelligent person who had absolutely no problem coming up with a plan to turn the odds in his favor. Minato was also the creator of the Rasengan, a highly potent technique that could easily take down most enemies with a single hit.

Might Guy was a taijutsu expert who spent years training his mind and body. Despite being underestimated by his peers, Guy kept on working hard and reached a level that most people could only dream of. The secret behind his strength was the Eight Inner Gates. Guy knew how to use all of them, but he was also aware of their side effects.

Each gate granted Guy an absurd amount of physical strength and speed, making it nearly impossible to overwhelm him in hand-to-hand combat. Throughout the story, Guy only used Gates 1 through 7, as the final gate meant inevitable death. However, when the Ninja Alliance had no answer for Madara Uchiha, he decided to throw the kitchen sink at it. Upon entering the 8th and final gate, Guy became so fast that his attacks were able to bend time and space. Additionally, just a single kick nearly destroyed Madara’s entire body.

Together they accomplished a lot, which is why they were treated with the utmost respect by the people of the Hidden Leaf. Out of the three, Jiraiya was arguably the strongest. He was a late bloomer who had incredible physical abilities as well as access to the Toad Sage mode.

While Jiraiya could never learn the perfect Sage Mode, his imperfect version had a few advantages. First of all, he was accompanied by two wise toads who had access to many unique jutsu of their own. Secondly, if Jiraiya was affected by a Genjutsu, the two could wake him up from it. Additionally, with the two toads by his side, Jiraiya had more eyes and ears on his enemy.

Sakura is one of the main characters in Naruto. While she may have been hated by many fans, there is no denying that she is a legendary ninja who was responsible for saving the world. What makes her accomplishments even more incredible is that Sakura did not have any Kekkei Genkai or any special lineage, so she had to work hard to reach where she is now.

Sakura specializes in medical ninjutsu, with which she can heal her allies in the middle of battle due to performing so many life-saving actions. Sakura eventually awakened the strength of a thousand seals. Upon activation, the seal covers her face and forehead. It also enhances her healing progress significantly, so she can keep fighting without worrying about any injuries.

Rock Lee’s story is one that inspires awe. When he suffered a devastating injury during the training exams, everyone was certain that he would never fight again, but Lee refused to give up. He kept training, and slowly his strength began to return. By the time the Fourth Ninja War had started, he was easily a Kage-level ninja.

Like his master, Might Guy, Lee also learned to use the eight inner gates, and during the war he had access to seven of them, which is enough to vanquish most foes in Naruto. Some time after the war, Lee mastered the 8th and final gate, surpassing his mentor in the process.
