Netflix’s Solo Leveling Live-Action Series in Talks with Han So Hee for Cha Hae-in Role Alongside Byeon Woo Seok’s Sung Jin-woo

Han So Hee may be joining Netflix’s live-action Solo Leveling series as the female lead, Cha Hae-in.

Han is one of Korea’s most prominent young actors, with major roles in dramas like Nevertheless, My Name, and Soundtrack #1, and Netflix’s Gyeongseong Creature.

Netflix first announced its plans for a live-action Solo Leveling earlier this year, confirming Woo Seok’s casting and revealing that Lee Hae-jun (Castaway on the Moon) and Kim Byung-seo (Ashfall) will co-direct. Kakao Entertainment and Sanai Pictures are on board as producers.

The adaptation is based on Chugong’s hit webtoon, which debuted on KakaoPage in 2016 and has since racked up over 14 billion views worldwide. The story follows Sung Jin-woo, an E-rank Hunter who gains extraordinary powers after a near-death experience and becomes humanity’s last hope against monsters emerging from mysterious Gates.

Netflix says that fans can expect “vivid characters, dynamic action sequences, and exhilarating quests, brought to life by a world-class global VFX team,” and even that it will set “a new standard for live-action adaptations.”

The series exploded in popularity with its 2024 anime adaptation, which earned several awards and brought the franchise to an even wider audience. Netflix has not yet announced a release date for the live-action version.
