I’m looking forward to an expansion for a game from 2015 more than I am for pretty much any new game coming up. The Songs of the Past add-on for The Witcher 3, which will be out next year, promises to let us explore a whole new region and get to know Dandelion better than ever. I’m more interested in a brand new chunk of world than intimate moments with the bard, but more Witcher 3 is more Witcher 3 even if the focus isn’t on everyone’s actual favorite character. (Johnny the Godling, of course.)

Songs of the Past was shown off at Gamescom, where our Joshua Wolens had a peek and said it looked real good. The rest of us will have to wait for other opportunities, like the one that’s been announced as part of the PAX Australia schedule reveal. On Saturday, October 11, attendees will be able to join members of CD Projekt and DLC developer Fool’s Theory for a behind-closed-doors live demo of Songs of the Past, and a panel discussion to follow.
