There are lots of crucial missions you need to tackle to progress in Fortnite. While some of them are fairly straightforward, others can be tricky to solve, as is the case with the collect Looper’s essence from eliminated players quest.
Working through as many tasks as you can is a great way to earn XP and keep up with what’s going on in the main storyline as it unfolds. This one is quite important to the story, so here’s how to collect Looper’s essence from eliminated players in Fortnite.
How to get Looper’s essence in Fortnite
You can collect Looper’s essence by taking down enemy players around the Fortnite island. Once you reach this stage in Geno’s quests, all players you vanquish are supposed to drop Looper’s essence until you have the total amount required for the mission.
As of the time of writing, though, this quest seems to be a bit bugged. When I worked through it, the essence didn’t drop right away, preventing any progress in this step. Eventually, though, it finally dropped from a player I killed, then continued spawning for all other enemies I took down after that until the mission was complete.
If you’re running into any issues progressing this mission, keep eliminating players as you find them since it seems to eventually fix itself. You can also try waiting until the next match to work on it, as this also generally helps mend these kinds of problems.
The key for this mission is that you must take out enemy players, not NPCs or bosses, to get it done. The essence you need comes from Loopers, which refers to other players only.
Collect Looper’s essence from eliminated players in Fortnite
To complete the collect Looper’s essence from eliminated players quest, you need to eliminate eight players to gather a total of eight essence. Each time you successfully vanquish an enemy player, a bright red flame item is supposed to drop on the ground nearby, which is the essence you need. It’s also marked with a diamond quest icon.
Once you spot this item, walk up to it and interact with it to pick up the Looper’s essence. Sometimes, it blends in a bit with the other dropped loot, so be sure to scan carefully so you don’t miss it. Repeat this process with eight different players to fully finish the mission.
There are lots of other tricky quests to complete after this one. If you aren’t sure where to begin, some good tasks to tackle next are finding all audio logs, taking down Geno, searching for Legendary Cheat Codes, and consuming an item at Blinky Island, Pinky Island, or Pac-Man Island.
