Wardogs features two progression paths: one is your overall level, which unlocks access to certain weapons, attachments, ammo types, and vehicles. The other path is divided into multiple classes. Each class comes with its own progression route, offering a variety of items as a reward. Leveling up each class is tied to certain actions, and it’s important to know what those actions are.
Assault, Medic, Support, Recon, Driver, and Pilot are the six classes with six different progression routes. Aside from Assault and Recon classes that come with the fewest tricks to speed up progression, the other four classes feature some neat ways to quickly level up. Some don’t even require much fighting!
How to Get XP Fast for Your Overall Level in Wardogs
The easiest way to earn overall XP is to wait for the APC personnel carrier vehicle to spawn, then drive it to a safe place inside the Control Zone, and park it. From now on, every player that spawns via the APC will grant you some XP. This will continue as long as you are alive, or the APC has not been destroyed.
That’s why it’s best to put the APC at a well-fortified base of yours. I strongly suggest that you park it under your tower, so the mortars or choppers cannot destroy it either.
You get $3,000 and 500 XP just for entering the Control Zone with the vehicle. And that’s just the beginning. As soon as you park the APC, other players will start to spawn. Keep in mind that players cannot spawn as long as the vehicle is moving.
For every player spawned on the APC, you will get 25 XP. If they get a kill, you get an extra 25 XP and $375 as an assist. And if they survive, you get 75 XP and $250 again. You can imagine how quickly this is going to level you up and make you rich if you stay alive for as long as possible. It’s worth noting that all these XPs are Driver XP. So, not only do you increase your overall level, but you also dramatically contribute towards your Driver class level.
Usually, the fight between teammates to get behind the wheel of the APC is really tight. When the match begins, try to check the APC’s spawn time through the respawn terminal at the HQ, and make sure to return to the same place at the same time. The APC spawns near the garage, and it is marked by a big satellite icon on the map.
How to Get XP Fast As a Driver or Pilot
Aside from the APC method mentioned earlier, which remains the best option for getting Driver XP, you can also simply work as a taxi driver between the HQ and the Control Zone. Just pick up players at the HQ and drop them off inside the Control Zone.
For every player that you take to the Control Zone, you get 250 XP. If the player survives a gunfight, you get an extra 400 XP as well as $500 to $1,000 in cash.
The problem is that players usually prefer to get in a helicopter rather than a car. So, as long as there are choppers at the HQ, few people will show interest in hopping in your car. But there is a workaround for that too.
Instead of taking players, you can just deliver supplies to your faction’s bases in the Control Zone. This requires a little investment, though. First, you need to make enough progress to unlock a Supply Truck, and then you need to buy it.
After that, get behind the wheel and press “B” to open the supply menu. Now, you will need some cash to buy crates and then fill them with supplies. Needless to say, you need to spend cash to get those supplies.
These investments are well worth it, though. For every crate that you drop at the base in the Control Zone, you will get 250 Driver XP. Whenever the players at the base use these supplies, you will also earn XP, though that would count towards Support rather than Driver.
Regardless of what car you drive, every time that you return from the Control Zone to the HQ, you get 300 Driver XP as a round trip bonus.
All the methods mentioned above are also true for the pilots. You can either transport soldiers or supplies between the Control Zone and the HQ to get Pilot XP, except for the APC method, which only grants Driver XP.
Pilots can gain XP faster than drivers as they can quickly move between the two points on the map. They also have a second way of earning XP. If you are piloting an attack helicopter, you will gain Pilot XP for killing enemy soldiers or destroying their structures using the chopper’s weapons.
However, pilots have a lower survivability rate than drivers. Trucks and cars barely get hit by enemy members, but helicopters are an easy target for the opponent factions’ SAM operators.
How to Get XP Fast as a Support
Support and Medic are the only classes that can gain XP through every other class. No matter if you are playing with a Recon or Assault loadout, you can also build structures or revive teammates to gain Support or Medic XP. That’s why these two are the easiest classes to level up.
For support, specifically, you can just build structures at a base. There is no better way than building to gain Support XP. If you like driving, you can also deliver supplies to the bases in the Control Zone. For every supply used by other teammates, you get 1 XP and $13.
On the other hand, if you are the support player who uses the supplies, for every supply pack that you grab from a crate and then deposit into the FOB, you will get 5 Support XP as well as $25.
Repairing structures doesn’t grant XP. So, while they are important, don’t expect anything out of them. However, you can repair vehicles or refuel them. This requires a drill, which you can unlock at the entry level of Support.
Considering all of this, building is still the best way to get Support XP. Just reach the base and try to fortify it in the best way possible.
How to Get XP Fast as a Medic
Playing as a medic is a little difficult because you constantly need to get in the enemy’s line of fire to revive downed teammates. Reviving and healing are the two main ways to earn Medic XP, and they’re much better than getting kills with SMGs.
As a medic, you are strongly recommended to buy and equip the Field Resuscitator as soon as it is unlocked. Every player who kills someone usually doesn’t take their aim away for at least several seconds to hunt anyone who comes to revive. So, the first rule is you won’t rush to revive as soon as a teammate is downed. Wait for a minute or so, and then try to crawl towards the downed ally. If there is cover nearby, dragging the teammate behind it is a good idea, but if the cover isn’t close, just remain prone and revive.
While you get 250 Medic XP for reviving, you will also be rewarded for the next actions of the revived teammate. If they survive a gunfight or score a kill, you will earn 25 bonus XP.
Reviving teammates with a defibrillator is a lot easier. You unlock it at Rank 11, and from there, you will see a significant improvement in your Medic XP gain.
Usually, when your base is targeted by a mortar strike, staying at base is a much better option to gain Medic XP. The mortars will constantly down teammates, giving you revive options one after another.
How to Get XP Fast as an Assault
Assault has fewer tricky ways to get XP than other classes, but they also come with the best weapons for winning a mid-range gunfight. Earning kills with an assault rifle or any sidearm will earn you Assault XP. That’s why carrying a sidearm is important, especially when playing as a Recon. It literally gives you a way to always earn Assault XP, even if it’s little.
Another way to earn Assault XP is to activate the Hotzone Magnate at Drill Tower. Remember that you don’t need to be the one who builds it. You don’t even have to be the one who delivers fuel supplies. Just get behind the Drill Tower’s laptop and activate it to earn 500 Assault XP.
You can easily activate a Hotzone Magnet at least twice in a game, or even more if you have enough resources or if the game lasts long enough.
How to Get XP Fast as a Recon
You gain XP for Recon by getting kills using Recon-specific weapons like sniper rifles or marksman rifles. But there are easier ways to earn XP too. Using Recon’s tools like Binoculars, Monoculars, or Range Finders, you can spot enemies and reveal them for the entire faction.
To do this, you just need to keep looking at the enemy with any of the aforementioned tools, and it will start to automatically recognize the enemy, filling a red rectangle around the center dot. Once done, the enemy will be revealed to all teammates, and you will gain 25 XP. And it’s not limited to soldiers. You can mark enemy supplies, helicopters, and vehicles. If the revealed target is killed or destroyed, you will gain an additional 36 XP.
This is an easy way to earn Recon XP without shooting any bullets. You can even do this while playing another class’s loadout.
