A Nintendo Switch 2 bundle that includes a digital copy of Monster Hunter Wilds is launching later this year. The Switch 2 Monster Hunter Wilds bundle is now available for Japanese customers to reserve via the Nintendo Store.
Since launch, Capcom has worked to correct several problems with Monster Hunter Wilds through various patches. The developers also released post-launch content updates that included new monsters for players to track and fight, such as Omega from Final Fantasy 14. A year after launch, Capcom stated that Monster Hunter Wilds was coming to Switch 2 on December 4. Pre-orders for the digital edition are available starting at $29.99 on the Nintendo eShop.
Nintendo Reveals Japan-Exclusive Monster Hunter Wilds Switch 2 Bundle
To coincide with the game’s pending Switch 2 launch, a new bundle will be available for Japanese customers to consider. A Monster Hunter Wilds Switch 2 bundle will go on sale starting December 4, with reservations now available at the Nintendo Store. The package includes a Japanese-language system, a digital game voucher, and three months of Nintendo Switch Online. Tokyo Game Show attendees can try out Monster Hunter Wilds on Switch 2 until September 21. Capcom stated that a public demo will be made available for users to download closer to the game’s launch. Reservations of the bundle will set customers back 61,980 yen, or roughly $397 as of this writing.

Along with the new Switch 2 console bundle, Capcom stated that the upcoming Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance expansion would also arrive on Switch 2 sometime in 2027. First revealed during Summer Game Fest for other platforms, the upcoming DLC will take place on floating islands, with several new monsters for players to encounter. However, it is currently unclear if Ascendance will arrive on Nintendo consoles at the same time in 2027 as other current-gen platforms, so fans must wait for more information.
The Monster Hunter Wilds bundle is not the only new Nintendo system hitting store shelves during the fall. A Switch 2 console made to commemorate the 40th anniversary of The Legend of Zelda franchise will be released globally on October 29 for $519.99. Although the Zelda Switch 2 collectible console is sold out as of this writing, Nintendo stated that more systems will be available for purchase on the Nintendo Store later this year.
Although AAA third-party releases on Switch 2 have not always been smooth, that has not stopped Nintendo and Capcom from teaming up to release the Monster Hunter Wilds system bundle. With the holiday shopping season right around the corner, it remains to be seen how successful the upcoming Switch 2 console bundle will be.
