Pokemon Fan Shares Super Rare, One Of a Kind Card From 30th Celebration Set

A Pokemon fan is showing off a super-rare misprint of a card from the newly released 30th Celebration set, with an error causing the ink for two cards to overlap. 30th Celebration has been one of the hottest sets to hit the Pokemon card game in recent years.

The special set commemorating the Pokemon franchise’s 30th anniversary is filled with plenty of exciting cards for players to pull. 30th Celebration puts the focus on Pokemon‘s most iconic mascot, with each pack containing a Pikachu card from a pool of 30 different cards. The set also features reprints of some of the most iconic cards from throughout the trading card game’s history, including both classic cards like Base Set Charizard and Base Set Pikachu and recent hits like the Magikarp Special Illustration Rare from Paldea Evolved. However, one Pokemon fan has now pulled a particularly unusual one-of-a-kind card from a 30th Celebration pack.

Pokemon Fan Pulls Incredibly Rare 30th Celebration Card

Twitter user Parvy showed off their incredible Pokemon TCG pull from 30th Celebration, featuring a particularly unusual Psychic Energy card. The holographic Psychic Energy card from 30th Celebration included half of the ink stamp for the Special Illustration Rare version of Mewtwo ex, with the Mewtwo’s outlines, the card’s name, and text for its attacks printed on the card. The incredible misprint featured the Mewtwo stamp across the card’s edge, showing the purple of the Psychic Energy and the gray color of the card’s border underneath. The Mewtwo ex Special Illustration Rare is currently one of the most expensive cards in Pokemon‘s 30th Celebration set, selling for nearly $100 on TCGPlayer.

The newest Pokemon set includes plenty of exciting new cards for fans to collect, with some being particularly sought after. 30th Celebration’s Classic Collection subset has a similar concept to the version featured in the Celebrations set from Pokemon‘s 25th anniversary, with each reprint coming with a gold border and a 30th anniversary stamp. The set also includes a special chase card that was not revealed ahead of its release, with RGB versions of the Mew ex from the set that have already sold for more than $20,000 on marketplaces like eBay.

30th Celebration’s release brought a wide variety of products for Pokemon fans to enjoy. Alongside the typical Elite Trainer Boxes, 30th Celebration launched with its own Poster Collection boxes, including a poster with the set’s branding on the front and each individual card on the back. The set also debuted a new rarity for Pokemon fans to collect, introducing the colorful Futuristic Rare cards for Pikachu, Mewtwo, and Mew. The Pokemon Company also confirmed a pair of Ultra-Premium Collection releases for the set, with different boxes featuring designs based on popular Eeveelutions Espeon and Umbreon.

While fans celebrate the release of 30th Celebration, The Pokemon Company is already looking ahead to the future of the game. The Pokemon TCG will launch one more set in 2026 with the debut of Delta Reign in November, putting Mega Rayquaza in the spotlight as the set’s cover Pokemon. The TCG also revealed a brand-new type of card set to debut in a future set, teasing ex Star cards during the annual Pokemon World Championships in late August. Pokemon‘s 30th anniversary has been an exciting time for fans of the beloved franchise, and the TCG looks to keep the momentum going well into the future.
