How to Pull Out the Sword of Bravery in Aniimo (Pawney)

In Aniimo, “pull out the Sword of Bravery” is the requirement to unlock Helmut’s evolution into Pawney, visible on the evolution screen. The game doesn’t tell you what this item is, but players who explore the Russet Highlands will come across a rock formation that, when broken, reveals a sword in the stone called the Sword of Bravery.

However, interacting with the Sword of Bravery doesn’t seem to do anything other than give you a hint that this sword is related to a Russet Highlands legend pertaining to Infergon and that twining with a Helmut may help solve the mystery.

How to Pull Out the Sword of Bravery in Aniimo

The Sword of Bravery can be found buried in stone at the center of the large circular arena in the eastern part of the Russet Highlands. However, interacting with it directly won’t do anything. To pull it out, you have to complete the Warrior: Russet Highlands side quest found under “The Legends of Helmuts and Helgons” section in the journal.

The Sword of Bravery is actually one of the rewards for completing this quest, and completing it will unlock Helmut’s evolution into Pawney.

Warrior: Russet Highlands Walkthrough in Aniimo

Start Warrior: Russet Highlands

To start the Warrior: Russet Highlands in Aniimo, you have to go and talk to the painter who’s standing right next to the Rainbow Woods teleport point in the region, west of the First Sight Sanctum.

Talk to Sorora and exhaust his dialogue. He’ll tell you that he is working on restoring a curious painting that tells the legend of Infergon. However, in order to do so, he needs your help finding clues.

Find Clues to Restore the Painting

Follow the quest marker to the first clue, located just northwest of the Twister Peaks fast travel point. At the destination, you’ll find a Weeping Helmut hiding behind some rubble. Twine with a Helmut of your own (you’ll have to catch one if you haven’t already) and talk to this Helmut.

After a brief dialogue, the Helmut will run away. Follow the quest marker as it leads you up the mountain and talk to the Helmut again at the new location. He’ll tell you about a Pawney who left a powerful sword called the Sword of Bravery, and explain that if any Helmut pulls the sword out, they’ll become a Pawney and defeat Infergon.

Find Information About the Legend of Pawney

Follow the quest marker further up the mountain, and it will lead you to a clearing with an unconscious Helmut. Check on Helmut’s body to learn that he seems to have met a powerful enemy.

Then, interact with the ground right next to it, and the camera will tilt towards the nearby arena shrouded in pink mist, showing that’s where you need to go next.

Pull Out the Sword of Bravery

When you enter the arena, you’ll find a rock formation at the center. If this is your first time here, use a strong damage-dealing skill to destroy the rock in order to reveal the Sword of Bravery hidden underneath.

Interact with the Sword of Bravery in the middle of the arena with a Helmut in your party and exhaust the dialogue, picking the “brave” option every time you’re prompted. At the end, your Helmut will evolve into a Pawney.

Defeat Infergon (Lv. 50)

Infergon will swoop down from the sky in a cutscene, triggering a boss fight. Infergon is a pure fire-type Aniimo, making it weak to water-type and rock-type moves. Magmarex, Grizbo, Minespine, Leafy, Sherro, and Erlath are all great counters for this encounter.

That said, even if you don’t have direct counters, Lunara and Helion both do well in this fight, provided they’re at an appropriate level.

Revive Pawney’s Legend

After Infergon is defeated, interact with the now-empty rock formation in the middle of the arena to discover that a Flame Flower has grown there. Pick up the flower to “revive Pawney’s legend.”

Return to Sorora

Go back to the painter, Sorora, and tell him about your encounter with Infergon and Pawney. He’ll remember the rest of the picture, completing the Warrior: Russet Highlands quest.

Additionally, completing this quest will permanently unlock the Helmut → Pawney evolution. Any Helmuts you can catch can now evolve into Pawney using a Night Stone when they reach level 45. This includes regional variants as well.
