This week featured some bordered lands. Four of them, in fact. A real turn up for the books, that one. Here’s hoping the five people on Earth who aren’t singing songs of silk appreciate a good knob gag, or several bad ones made in quick succession by a rectangular robot. I should de-sark myself. It’s Friday. There’s no place for sentences that mean the opposite.
Here’s what we’re playing this weekend:
Edwin
I’ve got various life admin to attend to this weekend, but I might play some more of Firefighting Simulator: Ignite, a janky blaze-bothering sim that launched this week amid all the fuss and racket over Borderlands 4. Whether I eventually write about it will depend on whether I can figure out how to burn down my own fire station without mods.
Nic
Nic dwells within the arboretum, having taken the form of a man-shrub. He hides from Adrian Edmondson. Adrian Edmondson searches.
Jeremy
I need to take a break from Silksong this weekend, as its drop has coincided with my wife and I exchanging contracts for a house – AKA one of the most stressful experiences I have had in my adult life. I’m still feeling the Metroidvania bug at the moment though, so I might fire up Deedlit in Wonder Labryinth, the Record of Lodoss War game that’s basically Symphony of the Night reskinned. It’s honestly more my vibe than Silksong, which is very well made and beautiful, but also kind of drives me up the wall.
Ollie
There is nothing but Silksong.
James
I was hoping to like Borderlands 4, but I’ve played a few hours and the guns feel like holding a cardboard tube full of Catsan up at enemies and watching individual pieces be propelled into their heads by the wind. So, it’s back down the Silksong mines for me.
Mark
I may have just recieved code for a game that’ll now be taking up a good chunk of my weekend. Any free time around that’ll be taken up by American Truck Simulator, which I’ve gotten back into over the last couple of evenings after a post-NBA 2K relapse of my desire for haulage from a couple of months ago. Also, maybe like five minutes of Cyberpunk.
And you, reader dear, what are you playing this weekend?…
