Skate, or “skate.“, is now available in early access for PC and console gamers, and some players have reported slight server issues.
As of Sept. 16, the downloads are working on PlayStation, Xbox, and the EA app (for PC). Skate is an entirely online title that requires you to remain connected to the official server to access the different modes.
This guide will help you stay aware of the server situation.
Are Skate servers down?
As of writing this guide, the Skate servers are in a pickle. While they’re not technically “down,” they’re also not operating optimally. This has created problems for many who cannot log in (myself included).
If you’re in the same boat, there are two possible outcomes. You could end up getting a server error. The best solution in such a case is to retry joining the server. Depending on when you’re reading this guide, you can come across a login queue (like the one in the screenshot below).
This mechanism ensures players can smoothly join the servers, but only after a waiting period. While this can be pretty frustrating, it ensures you can play after waiting for a specific period.
To wrap up, wait for your turn, and don’t quit the process, as that will move you to a new position in the login queue.
How to check the Skate server status?
One of the easiest ways to check Skate’s server status is to use the third-party site Downdetector. Simply type in the game’s name and check whether there’s a spike in red dots. If yes, it means that the servers aren’t operational.
Alternatively, you can follow the game’s official X account for any impending server updates and maintenance. Having this information beforehand will allow you to prepare better and avoid any potential headaches.
