Jujutsu Kaisen has been a dominant force in the manga and anime industry ever since its debut. Gege Akutami’s hit series has become a household name, and its massive popularity is only growing with each successive release. Despite the manga having ended in 2024, the franchise is still going strong, with all fans eagerly waiting for Jujutsu Kaisen Season 4.
It’s now been officially confirmed that Jujutsu Kaisen Season 4 will reveal new, exciting information in the coming months. Jump Festa 2027, which is being held on December 19 and 20, 2026, is set to reveal a new big project for the series. Along with anticipating a new update for Jujutsu Kaisen Season 4, we also expect a possible new teaser regarding Gege Akutami’s next story in Weekly Shonen Jump.
Jujutsu Kaisen Season 4 Is Set To Reveal Key Information At Jump Festa 2027
Jujutsu Kaisen is one of the biggest hits ever for popular magazine Weekly Shonen Jump. With only 30 volumes, the series has already sold over 150 million copies. Because of its undeniable success, we weren’t surprised when Jujutsu Kaisen was revealed to be one of the key components of Jump Festa 2027. For context, Jump Festa is one of the biggest anime and manga events that has taken place yearly in Japan since 1999. This year, Jump Festa is being held in the Makuhari Messe International Exhibition Halls, Chiba Prefecture, Japan, on December 19 and 20. We’re all excited to see what Jump Festa 2027 has in store for us, as we delve deeper into Gege Akutami’s magnum opus.
Despite the manga having ended in December 2024 with the release of its final volume 30, the series has still been going quite strong. This year, in January 2026, we received Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3, covering the first part of the Culling Game arc. Not too long before that, we were treated to a new sequel series by Gege Akutami in collaboration with Yuji Iwasaki, known as Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo. Hopefully, more is coming for the franchise as a whole, especially after the disappointing stage the IP had during last Year’s Jump Festa 2026.
Jujutsu Kaisen is Joining the Super Stage Lineup With New Season 4 Update
Jump Festa 2027 is just a couple of months away. Because of that, Shueisha, the publishing company of the magazine Weekly Shonen Jump, has already revealed, on September 24, 2026, the full list of attendees and what stages they fall into. For context, this year’s Jump Festa is being divided into three main categories, each considered its own tier and given a certain level of importance. The lowest tier is Jump Station. Jump Station typically sets the stage for series that are less popular or still establishing themselves. This year’s Jump Station includes bigger hits like Black Clover, but also less well-known manga like High School Family or The Bugle Cell.
Jump Studio is the middle tier of Jump Festa, and it typically includes mid-tier series or big anime that are expecting smaller announcements. Bleach is on the Jump Station roster, and so are Kaiju Number 8 and Witch Watch. Finally, Super Stage is the most awaited stage of the whole event. Super Stage is the main highlight, and that is where all the big announcements and reveals will be made. It is also where the mainstream series with big upcoming projects will reveal to fans what’s next. As fans might be expecting, Jujutsu Kaisen is included in the Super Stage, alongside other major hits like One Piece, Demon Slayer, My Hero Academia, and Naruto. Given that it is one of the most popular series ever for the magazine, this was only a given.
Jujutsu Kaisen also has an ongoing successful anime adaptation, and its involvement in the Super Stage can only mean one thing: a big announcement for its upcoming project — Jujutsu Kaisen Season 4. JJK Season 4 is set to conclude the Culling Game Arc, and the stakes are at their peak. MAPPA Studio is set to go all out with this adaptation. We already have a teaser trailer for this new installment, and what we’re really waiting for is an official release date.
Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 aired between January and March 2026. We still don’t know when this new installment is coming. That said, MAPPA have already confirmed that Jujutsu Kaisen Season 4 is set to be released sometime in 2027. It is likely that Jump Festa 2027 will deliver the Jujutsu Kaisen Season 4 trailer, key visual, and potentially even a release date. It will also include new commentary from the voice actors on what’s to come.
Other Announcements To Expect From Jujutsu Kaisen At Jump Festa 2027
Since the Jujutsu Kaisen manga ended in 2024, the main focus has largely been the anime adaptation by MAPPA. Despite that, fans expect more information to be revealed pertaining to the manga projects by Gege Akutami. Earlier this year, major reports emerged concerning Jujutsu Kaisen creator Gege Akutami’s impending return to Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump. This new work could be similar to Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, in that it could be a new manga revolving around expanding the Jujutsu Kaisen world. This is especially likely, as at the end of Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, it was stated by the editor that fans should look forward to Gege and Yuji’s next work together. Because of how successful Jujutsu Kaisen and Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo were for the magazine, it wouldn’t come as a surprise for Shueisha to push Gege to come out with a new work.
This new work could be completely unrelated to Jujutsu Kaisen. In this case, new comments about it could be made at the upcoming Jump Festa 2027 in an attempt to launch it to the global audience. A new successful manga is definitely something that Weekly Shonen Jump needs. After all, the magazine has, for the first time in decades, dropped below 1 million sales per issue. If there is one person who can bring back Weekly Shonen Jump from its depths, it’s undoubtedly Gege Akutami.
Of course, big announcements aside, we can also expect some smaller announcements to be made during Jump Festa for Jujutsu Kaisen. As always, there is going to be an event hosted with some major voice actors of the series. These usually include Yuji, Megumi, and Yuta’s voice actors. Furthermore, we already know that Jujutsu Kaisen is holding its final exhibition right after Jump Festa, specifically between December 25, 2026, and January 25, 2027. For the approaching occasion, Jump Festa could unveil new information, such as details about the exhibition or teasers of what’s to be revealed. Since this is the final exhibition, it is likely going to be advertised heavily. We have high expectations for Gege Akutami’s Jujutsu Kaisen next year. If there is one series that is bound to have big announcements, it’s definitely this one.
