After a lot of mentions, talks, and teases, Nexon finally reveals Serena, a new Fellow type, and the next Ultimate Descendant, who will all be gradually added to The First Descendant in the upcoming updates.
Every couple of months, The First Descendant devs release major updates, bringing huge changes to the game. Changes like a new Descendant joining the fray, or an existing one getting the Ultimate suit. Or some completely new mechanics, like when we finally got pets in the game – Fellows. And now, another huge update is right around the corner, with more already announced. In the recent devlive, Nexon reveals who’s the next Descendant, Ultimate Descendant, and Fellow.
Serena
Serena is the new Fire Arche Descendant joining the roster. She belongs to an older generation of Descendants, but she’s far from looking old. Some even compare her design to Mercy from Overwatch, especially with the wing-like machine on her back, which allows her to use her skills while flying, opening up a unique way of experiencing the game. More details (like her Skills) will be revealed in the March devlive.
Ultimate Blair
The next character getting the Ultimate makeover is revealed to be Blair. As you can see in the photo provided below, the design is off the rails for this one (even though the devs admitted that it is only the concept art). They also revealed that this time, the character’s backstory will be more of a comedic type, compared to Freyna’s or Sharen’s. According to the roadmap, we can expect Ultimate Blair in the April update.
Retriever
Just like the devs mentioned previously, the new Fellow is a Labrador Retriever. Moreover, they will have a different function, compared to the Hagios Sheepdog. Retrievers will still pick up items, but instead of the auto-dismantle feature, Retriever “racks up extra ammo”. They will be added to the game in the “March 13 update”.
The February Update is right around the corner, but it’s great knowing what to look for in future updates.
