Upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 Games (2025 & Beyond)

Upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 Games (2025 & Beyond)

Debuting in June 2025, the Nintendo Switch 2 is slowly but surely building up its library, a process that has barely started but is already quite exciting. At this point, the Switch 2 games calendar is not overly stuffed with releases, with most weeks including only a couple of newcomers; however, new titles are announced quite frequently, and there should always be something on the horizon that could tempt you to take out your wallet.

The gaming industry never sleeps, so keeping track of every upcoming Switch 2 game can be exhausting. Consequently, we’ve put together a breakdown of all the projects slated to launch on the console, and we are referring exclusively to native releases and not backward-compatible Switch titles. What are some upcoming 2025 Switch 2 games? Which title will define 2026?

The focus is on Switch 2 games confirmed for North America. Japanese-only releases will not be included, unless they are confirmed to be coming to the West.

Updated on September 12, 2025, by Mark Sammut: A Nintendo Direct has just finished, announcing a host of Switch 2 games coming out soon, along with revealing release dates for Metroid Prime 4, Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment, and more. The following new Switch 2 games were added to the calendar: Castle of Heart: Retold, The Rogue Prince of Persia, Ultimate Sheep Raccoon, Pokemon Pokopia, Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave, Yoshi and the Mysterious Book, Mario Tennis Fever, Super Mario Wonder: Nintendo Switch 2 Edition, Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2, Dynasty Warriors: Origins, Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined, Suika Game Planet, Lynked: Banner of the Spark, Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly Remake.

September 2025 Switch 2 Games

Silksong, Star Wars, Daemon X Machina, & More

The Nintendo Switch 2 2025 game calendar is defined by long gaps of nothingness, which is to be expected during the console’s first two years. However, September 2025’s games should be able to keep most players busy for a long time, as nearly every title is massive in its own right. Silksong is now out, making it comfortably one of the biggest Switch 2 games on the market. Long, beautiful, challenging, and just all-around masterful, Team Cherry’s sequel lives up to the Hollow Knight name.

If you prefer a sci-fi adventure, Ubisoft’s Star Wars Outlaws has been ported to the Switch 2, and it is a great version of an arguably underrated game. Cronos: The New Dawn is an option for horror fans, while people into mecha can try out Daemon X Machina: Titanic Scion. Finally, NBA 2K26 and EA Sports FC 26 are both debuting in September 2025, and they will dominate the lives of millions of people.

Nintendo Switch 2 Has 6 Big Games Releasing in September 2025

The Nintendo Switch 2 console has six big new game releases confirmed for September 2025 so far.

Switch 2 Games Coming In October 2025

Pokemon, Borderlands, Persona, Dragon Quest, & More

While still early days, October 2025 looks primed and ready to be dominated by JRPGs. Pokemon Legends: Z-A‘s pre-release marketing has attracted quite a bit of criticism, but it will still probably be one of the best-selling Switch 2 games of the year. Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake should be a great throwback to classic turn-based JRPGs. Persona 3 Reload is also confirmed to be coming to the Switch 2, making October 2025 a brilliant month for JRPGs.

If you are looking for a creepy puzzle-platformer, Little Nightmares 3 should have you covered, and it even supports co-op. Besides the new game, the original title is also receiving an enhanced edition. Borderlands 4 is coming to the Switch 2 a bit late, which will hopefully allow for a smooth launch. During the September 12 Nintendo Direct, Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2 was announced, which is incredibly exciting.

  • October 2: Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2
  • October 3: Borderlands 4
  • October 3: Castle of Heart: Retold
  • October 9: Yooka-Replaylee
  • October 10: Disgaea 7 Complete
  • October 10: Little Nightmares: Enhanced Edition
  • October 10: Little Nightmares 3
  • October 14: Just Dance 2026 Edition
  • October 15: BALL x PIT

Switch 2 Games Coming In November 2025

Hyrule Warriors, Kirby, Dragon Ball, Yakuza, & More

So far, November 2025’s Switch 2 games lineup is shaping up pretty nicely, with a mix of ports and new games. Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero and Yakuza Kiwami have been out for a while (or a long time in the latter’s case), but they are still big deals.

Kirby Air Riders is one of the Switch 2’s most highly anticipated exclusives; however, it no longer has to carry November on its own as Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment will start the month on a huge note. The Musou game should be pretty awesome, as its predecessors were both a lot of fun.

  • November: Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP
  • November 6: Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment
  • November 11: Goodnight Universe
  • November 13: Atelier Ryza Secret Trilogy Deluxe Pack
  • November 13: Inazuma Eleven: Victory Road
  • November 13: Yakuza Kiwami
  • November 13: Yakuza Kiwami 2
  • November 14: Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero
  • November 18: SpongeBob SquarePants: Titans of the Tide
  • November 20: Kirby Air Riders

Switch 2 Games Coming In December 2025

Metroid Prime 4, Octopath Traveler 0, & More

OK, it is finally happening! Metroid Prime 4 is coming. This is not a drill. The Nintendo Direct on September 12 revealed that the long-awaited, long-desired sequel has an official release date, and it could very well be the biggest release of the final few months of the year.

Upcoming 2025 Switch 2 Games With No Release Date

Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition & More

The Nintendo Switch 2 calendar for 2025 is still slightly open, and the console has a range of titles that are targeting debuts before the end of the year. Now, we cannot guarantee that will be the case until release dates for the Nintendo Switch 2 versions are announced. Ultimately, developers should take all the time they need to ensure they deliver the best iterations of each title, and rushing them out will do nobody any good.

Switch 2 Games Coming In 2026 Or With No Release Year

Fire Emblem, Duskbloods, Final Fantasy 7, & More

The Switch 2’s life has only just begun, and its future is bright but also mostly in shadow. What upcoming 2026 Switch 2 games will define the year? Will it be FromSoftware’s The Duskbloods? Maybe Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave? How about a new Mario Tennis?

There is, frankly, a huge chance that the biggest Switch 2 game of 2026 has yet to be revealed, which means that exciting times are ahead. Consoles tend to get things going with a few slow years that feature splashes of major releases rather than consistent output, so the Switch 2’s immediate future could be a bit slow.
