Megabonk has surprisingly grabbed the attention of many Roguelite players with its fun gameplay elements, and you can unlock new characters along the way.
Every character has a unique aspect about them, but your choices in the beginning will be minimal. However, a part of the grind is to complete different tasks to unlock the characters from the shop (no microtransactions detected).
This guide will help you expand your roster quickly.
Disclaimer: The guide is a work-in-progress. We will add more names once we have figured out how to unlock them.
All characters and their unlock conditions in Megabonk
Here’s a list of all the characters we have unlocked as of writing on Sept. 22 in Megabonk.
Character | How to Unlock |
---|---|
Sir Oofie | He is a starting character and available to all by default. |
CL4NK | Clear the Forest area at tier 1. This isn’t a challenging task, but having higher attack speed will ease your cause. |
Bush | You’ll come across Bush in the Forest region. To add him to your shop, you’ll need to defeat him. |
Bandit | Similar to Bush, you’ll have to find and defeat Bandit in the Desert region. |
Megachad | Upgrade your Damage tome to level 7 or higher. |
Monke | You’ll find him in the Forest. Once found, simply release him. |
Ninja | You’ll have to obtain the Katana, which has a 5% drop rate from Desert Tumbleweed. Unlocking this character has a lot of RNG attached to it. |
Vlad | Complete the Desert biome in tier 2. |
Robinette | Defeat the boss that spawns in Forest tier 2. |
Spaceman | Complete any six challenges. |
How to get a new character in Megabonk?
The first step is to unlock a new character by completing their requirement. However, this doesn’t automatically add them to your roster. There are a few more steps to complete.
- Every character has a unique weapon. You’ll need to complete the specific tasks to unlock their weapons first.
- Then, you’ll need to spend Silver to obtain the weapons.
- This will now allow you to spend more Silvers in the shop to get a new character.
At first, it seems like a lot. But you gradually start building up your Silver by completing multiple runs. The deeper you go on a run, the higher your Silver will be.
