If you’re a big fan of Frank Herbert’s Dune and/or movies made by legendary director David Lynch, check out Amazon’s deal on the 4K UHD restoration of the late filmmaker’s highly ambitious and divisive 1984 adaptation. Arrow Video’s stellar 4K Blu-ray edition of David Lynch’s Dune is up for grabs for only $21.80 (was $50). Dune is one of many 4K Blu-rays in Amazon’s 50% off Arrow Video movies promotion; it’s also not the only Dune adaptation on 4K Blu-ray for super cheap right now.

The ultra-violent and often disorienting film was exceedingly unpopular with critics and fans, but it has garnered a cult following over the years. It’s a fascinating adaptation that’s worth revisiting, and Arrow Video’s 4K Blu-ray edition is the best way to watch it today. If you’re at all interested in Dune or David Lynch or the filmmaking process, I’d highly recommend pairing the 4K Blu-ray with the massive behind-the-scenes book titled A Masterpiece in Disarray: David Lynch’s Dune, An Oral History. The 560-page, limited-edition book is thoroughly entertaining–and it doesn’t hurt that it doubles as a stunning display piece.

Both audio formats can be accompanied by optional English subtitles.

The 4K version is actually cheaper than the standard Blu-ray edition, which is on sale for $26 (was $40). If you simply want to own the movie, the 2011 Blu-ray edition distributed by Universal Pictures is available for only $8.34 at Amazon.
Dune was Lynch’s third movie following Eraserhead (1977) and The Elephant Man (1980). But unlike those two films and most of his later work, Lynch’s Dune adaptation was widely panned by critics and floundered at the box office. The harshest critical assessment came from the director himself when he deleted his name from the credits of the original version. Dune released with the director listed as Alan Smithee, a pseudonym created by the Directors Guild of America for filmmakers who wished to disown their own movie.
$20.50 (was $30)
If Lynch deleting his own name from a movie he directed makes you want to learn more about the tumultuous production, this is the book for you.
A Masterpiece in Disarray is a beautifully designed limited-edition hardcover written by film writer Max Evry. The deeply researched 560-page retrospective is based on interviews with David Lynch, the main cast–Kyle MacLachlan, Virginia Madsen, Sean Young, and others–the crew, Hollywood insiders, film executives, and creatives. The author also combed through production documents and photographs, which are included throughout the narrative.
Released in 2023 by 1984 Publishing, A Masterpiece in Disarray’s Limited Edition has foil-gilded page edges and a built-in satin ribbon bookmark. The sold-out first printing had red foil-gilded edges. For the second printing, as shown above, the publisher switched to blue page edges. You can still snag a copy from the second print run for $20.50 (was $30) as of January 8, 2026.

Check out the list below for deals on the modern two-part adaptation of Dune, Season 1 of Dune: Prophecy, and Syfy’s terrific miniseries adaptations of the first three novels in the series. Fans can get Dune: Part One and Part Two on 4K Blu-ray for $30 total. The Dune 2-Film Blu-ray Collection is $17.73, and the DVD set is $15. If you’re eligible for Amazon’s coupon deal, Dune: Prophecy Season 1 is $17 on 4K Blu-ray.
If you really love the Dune and Children of Dune miniseries, check out Umbrella Entertainment’s Dune & Children of Dune Collector’s Edition. The four-disc Blu-ray collector’s edition comes with both miniseries, five hours of bonus content, and a bunch of physical extras. Amazon’s store page describes the collectibles but it has the wrong pictures, but the right side of the image above is what you’d get.
The Collector’s Edition is bundled with a 160-page hardcover book filled with behind-the-scenes content and artwork, an exclusive 750-piece building set called Facing Shai-Hulud (the sandworm), eight art cards, a double-sided poster, and a sturdy display box featuring Shai-Hulud. Dune Complete Collection Box Set retails for $235, but it’s available for $142.76 at Amazon. Surprisingly, this is actually sold and shipped directly from Amazon with Prime delivery. Dune & Children of Dune on DVD is $33 from a third-party seller (shipped by Amazon).
It took over 35 years for Frank Herbert’s sci-fi epic to return to the big screen. Denis Villeneuve’s Dune: Part One (2021) and Dune: Part Two (2024) were massive critical and commercial hits. The star-studded cast returns to theaters December 18 to continue the story in Dune: Part Three, an adaptation of Dune Messiah, the second novel in Herbert’s saga.
The HBO prequel series Dune: Prophecy is also expected to return for its second season in 2026. While Prophecy pulls from Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson’s Great Schools of Dune trilogy, it serves as a prequel to Villeneuve’s ongoing movie series, rather than a strict adaptation.
The building set included with Dune + Children of Dune Collector’s Edition looks nice, but it’s not the only official brick-built model fans can get right now. The 1,369-piece Lego Icons Dune Atreides Royal Ornithopter is discounted to $134 (was $165) at Amazon.

The first three Dune novels received stunning Deluxe Hardcover Editions in 2023, and fans can save over 50% on the slipcased set. The $150 collection is available for $67.47 at Amazon. All three Deluxe Editions are discounted to around $25 on their own, too. Each Deluxe Edition has the following premium flourishes:
- Stamped and foiled hardcover cases
- Litany Against Fear quotes on cases
- Full-color, illustrated endpapers
- Blue-stained page edges
- Reversible dust jacket with new art
- Interior jacket art doubles as poster

The first Dune novel also has a wonderful official graphic novel adaptation. Written by Brian Herbert (Frank Herbert’s son) and Kevin J. Anderson, Dune: The Graphic Novel is roughly 550 pages across three volumes. Fans can choose between standard hardcover books, Deluxe Collector’s Editions with slipcases, and a box set edition with all three volumes. Dune: The Graphic Novel Complete Box Set was published in November and is on sale for $59 (was $78).
