Finally, after just over four years since it was originally revealed, Marvel’s Wolverine from Insomniac Games is back.

Following the massive hack of the Marvel’s Spider-Man and Ratchet & Clank developer at the end of 2023, the studio is finally back, bub, and it’s brought the indestructible, animalistic, Adamantium-clawed mutant back to the forefront of every gamer’s mind.

In the new video that was just shown at State of Play, the future PS5 exclusive got a deep dive from Insomniac, detailing how Wolverine will be gory as hell. The trailer had plenty of slicing and dicing, and lots of cameos from other familiar characters like Mystique, Omega Red, and Sentinels. And lots, and lots, and lots of blood.

In a dev video, Insomniac revealed Australian actor Liam McIntyre as the voice of Wolverine. Beyond that, the devs promised more from the game will be shown in spring 2026, so sit tight a little bit longer, Marvel gamers.

Insomniac’s next Marvel game following a trio of Spider-Man titles first debuted at the September 2021 PlayStation Showcase with a short teaser that did not show much. Before the dev was ready to show more, a huge data breach and targeted hack of the company revealed a slew of pre-alpha gameplay, footage, and story details, along with sensitive info like personal information about the developers.

The studio has spent the time since the breach recovering and working hard on Wolverine, and what we saw today at State of Play is the fruits of their labor. As one of the most trusted and reputable devs in the business, there was little doubt about the quality of Marvel’s Wolverine, but this new footage has brought hype to new levels.
