Here’s what Sony had to show off for the end of 2025 and beyond.
Wake me up when September ends—or when there’s a new gaming showcase to take our minds off of existential dread.
I’M UP! A new Sony PlayStation State of Play is here yet again for another September showing off what to expect for the rest of the year, the first few months of 2026, and beyond. Before the show, Sony said that the new game SAROS from Returnal dev Housemarque will debut five minutes of gameplay, but beyond that, it’s anyone’s guess what will be shown.
The State of Play boasts “more than 35 minutes of reveals and news from developers around the world. We’ll share new looks at anticipated third-party and indie titles, plus updates from some of our teams at PlayStation Studios,” according to Sony.
Ghost of Yōtei? Resident Evil Requiem? Marvel’s Wolverine? Final Fantasy VII remake part three? Bloodborne 2? A new PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale?! SAROS – Gameplay and release date
The show opened up with a stunning look at SAROS gameplay, the next game from Returnal and Super Stardust HD devs at Housemarque. It’s very similar to its predecessor as a third-person shooter roguelike, and the formula will immediately be familiar to anyone who played the studio’s last title. It looks pretty awesome and it’s coming on March 20, 2026.
Zero Parades for Dead Spies – Reveal trailer
Next up is an interesting-looking game similar to Disco Elysium in presentation.
Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 – Reveal and release date
Welcome, welcome, another former Xbox exclusive to PlayStation. Flight Sim is coming soon to PS5 on Dec. 8.
Battlefield 6 – Campaign trailer
Sony partners up with EA for this new look at BF6 a few weeks ahead of its release on Oct. 10.
Deus Ex Remastered – Reveal trailer
25 years later, the Square Enix classic FPS is back with a fresh coat of paint, overhauled controls, and PS5 features like haptic feedback. It comes to PS5 on Feb. 5, 2026.
Halloween: The Game – New trailer and release date
Michael Myers vs. survivors. Kill or be killed, all with the classic theme song playing in the background when it launches on Sept. 8, 2026.
Last Epoch – Coming to PS5 with new expansion
The dungeon crawler is coming to console along with its first DLC expansion, Orobyss.
The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin – Announcement trailer
An open world title featuring dungeons, co-op, and exploration “in a multiverse that transcends time and space” in this adaptation of this animated series. It comes to PS5 on Jan. 28, 2026.
Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds – Mega Man joins as DLC
Mega Man and Proto Man are coming to the Sonic racing game as part of the crossover bonanza. The game is out tomorrow, Sept. 25, but Mega Man DLC is coming next year.
Nioh 3 – Trailer and release date
The upcoming Koei Tecmo action game got a new trailer showcasing pretty visuals and intense gameplay. It’s coming to PS5 on Feb. 6, 2026.
Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered – Trailer
Another Koei Tecmo classic is getting the remaster treatment. It’s coming March 19, 2026.
Code Vein 2 – New trailer and release date
The anime-style action RPG sequel is coming to PS5 on Jan. 30, 2026.
Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles
Another remaster, this strategy RPG classic is out next week, and the game’s director was on hand to talk about it.
Let It Die: Inferno – New trailer and release date
Grasshopper Manufacture was on hand in a video to show off some more of the loopy action game. This studio is always ready to bring something unique to the table. It launches on PS5 on Dec. 3, 2025.
Chronoscript: The Endless End – Reveal trailer
A new title from Desk Works, this 2D action/adventure platformer has a very unique visual style, like a hand-drawn, old book come to life. It’s due to launch in 2026.
Crimson Desert – New trailer and release date
Pearl Abyss’s gorgeous open world action RPG is coming to PS5 on March 19, 2026.
Pulse Elevate Wireless Speakers
Sony is getting further into the PC audio game with wireless desktop speakers. Who asked for this? I’m not really sure. But the video was cool, I guess.
PlayStation Plus updates
Alan Wake II, Goat Simulator 3, and Cocoon are coming to PS Plus Essential on Oct. 7. The Last of Us: Part II Remastered is coming to PS Plus game catalog, too. Tekken 3, Soul Calibur 3, and Tomb Raider: Anniversary are coming to the Classics catalog.
Gran Turismo – 100 million units sold
Gran Turismo creator Kazunori Yamauchi announced a sales milestone and new update coming to Gran Turismo 7 in December.
Kratos DualSense for God of War 320th anniversary
Hey! You’ve got red on you.
Marvel’s Wolverine – New trailer and release window
IT’S BACK! Finally! Our first look at Wolverine in YEARS. And it’s gory as all hell. Insomniac cooked. It’s coming in fall 2026, but we’ll hear and see more of the game in the spring.
