Best Skim Speeder Build in Star Wars Galactic Racer

Best Skim Speeder Build in Star Wars Galactic Racer

The Skim Speeder requires the most skill out of the three vehicles in Star Wars: Galactic Racer, but the Knife Edge ability will allow you to make intensely sharp turns without a loss of speed. That’s your main advantage, and it’s something we’re going to exploit with Ramjet to make your Skim Speeder unstoppable and easily conquer first place in Campaign and Multiplayer with this Skim Speeder build!

Best Racer Style for the Skim Speeder

Best Racer Style for the Skim Speeder

The Skim Speeder is all about maintaining speed, which is why I’d recommend the Redliner Racer Style. This can be unlocked for Campaign by using the Ramjet for a total of 375 seconds, or by playing as Ary Quill at Multiplayer Rank 6.

The reason Redliner is the superior Racer Style is that you can maintain high speeds that your opponents won’t be able to keep up with, as Rank 3 of Redliner increases the Redlining zone by 200%, increases the power of the Ramjet, and allows you to re-engage the Ramjet after disengaging! Essentially, you’re going to keep your Ramjet active for longer, which means more speed.

Best Upgrades for the Skim Speeder

Best Upgrades for the Skim Speeder

  • Ramjet is going to increase the boost provided by Ramjet, which you’re going to use almost always to gain speed.
  • Knife Edge is going to help the Skim Speeder turn more tightly and maintain your speed while drifting.
  • Afterburner is going to help with the Skim Speeder’s acceleration, deceleration, and the boost received from Afterburner.

The three upgrades to prioritise are Ramjet, Knife Edge, and Afterburner. If you can afford it, dump points into Resilience and Cornering once you have enough points in the three priority upgrades. Resilience is going to help you survive more crashes and collisions with other opponents, and Cornering will further assist in sharp turns and corners.

Battery is pretty pointless, and I’d only focus on having around 2-3 upgrades here so you can use around 5+ abilities per race, as again, your main focus is the Ramjet, not your abilities.

Best Parts for the Skim Speeder

Best Parts for the Skim Speeder

You can have four parts, and the ones we will focus on will all help with speed. Parts are RNG-based, so you might not get the ones we’ve listed, so just make sure you’re prioritising anything that helps with Ramjet:

  • Surging Alarm III will provide Surging for 20 seconds when Redlining, which means more speed!
  • Overheat Loop III adds +5% Ramjet power every time you are Redlining, and stacks until you Crash for even more speed!
  • Redlining Power makes the Ramjet 100% more powerful when Redlining, which is, again, even more speed!
  • Extended Alarm IV increases Redlining duration by 200%, which means more Ramjet, which means more speed!

Spending Credits on Parts and Upgrades is far more important than Abilities, but Vent and Surge are the two Abilities in particular that are going to help you maintain the top spot and survive against aggressive players.

Try to upgrade Vent to Auto-Vent Level 3, as this will reduce Ramjet heat for an extended duration and activate automatically at the end of the Redlining zone, which essentially means you can use two Ramjets in one activation.

For Surge, upgrade it to Overtaking Surge II Level 3, which gives you 20 seconds of Surging. While Surging is lost on impact, overtakes extend the duration and increase its potency, so use it at the start of the race to overtake everyone and get out of the chaos faster with higher speeds.

If you can get a third ability, go for Autopilot, as this will fly your vehicle automatically for 15 seconds, and with Surging Autopilot II, you gain a massive increase to Speed during this time.
