This article contains spoilers from the Solo Leveling manhwa.
Solo Leveling Season 3 is one of the most hotly anticipated anime sequels of today, and fans never fail in showing their all-out support for producers to release it as soon as possible. After all, intense battles await Sung Jin-Woo and, not to mention, his relationship with Cha Hae-In is expected to receive real romantic progress next season.
That’s not all, as the third season of Solo Leveling is expected to show more moments between Sung Jin-Woo and his sister, Sung Jin-Ah. She is a crucial part of Jin-Woo’s support system, but many fans are still wondering why Jin-Woo’s sister never became a hunter. Luckily, Solo Leveling Season 3 will show why Jin-Ah isn’t fit to become a hunter at all.
Sung Jin-Woo’s Sister Is Not a Hunter in Solo Leveling
Sung Jin-Woo Won’t Allow Jin-Ah to Become a Hunter
- Sung Jin-Ah is just an ordinary human in Solo Leveling.
- Sung Jin-Ah is not a hunter like Jin-Woo despite their biological relationship.
In the Sung family, only Jin-Woo and his father, Il-Hwan, awakened as hunters, eventually becoming two of the strongest hunters in Korea with immense magic energy. While Jin-Woo becomes the successor of the Shadow Monarch, Il-Hwan becomes one of the vessels of the Rulers. Jin-Woo’s sister, Sung Jin-Ah, on the other hand, did not awaken and become a hunter for the rest of the story.
In the earlier story arcs of Solo Leveling, Jin-Ah’s head teacher or principal, asked Jin-Woo whether he would allow his sister to give up education and become a hunter instead, considering Jin-Ah’s friend, Han Song Yi, has already taken her first steps in the dangerous industry. However, Jin-Woo answered with a strong “No,” even if she awakens, refusing to allow his sister to be exposed in the dungeons and to its native monsters.
As much as fans would love to see Sung Jin-Ah in action, Jin-Woo’s sister remains one of his biggest supporters outside the battlefield, crucial to his personal goals. Interestingly, there were reports that series creator Chugong once revealed Jin-Ah’s hunter rank would have been nothing extraordinary despite being Jin-Woo’s biological sister.
Sung Jin-Woo’s Sister Will Be Traumatized by a Dungeon Break
A Dungeon Boss Will Almost Kill Jin-Ah in Solo Leveling Season 3
Solo Leveling Season 3 is full of exciting story arcs that will put the spotlight not just on Jin-Woo but also on the supporting characters like Sung Jin-Ah. Most likely, in the first few episodes of Season 3, fans will be able to witness an unfortunate incident at Jin-Ah’s high school, where an unexpected dungeon break will happen. Fans know how dangerous a dungeon break is, as shown in Jeju Island, and Sung Jin-Ah will be at the center of it.
While Sung Jin-Woo will be busy assisting A-Rank Hunter Park Jung-Soo’s guild in raiding a high-rank dungeon, Jin-Ah’s life will be in danger at the hands of Groctar, who is the orc leader of the Red Blade Tribe. She will be targeted, as Jin-Ah has three shadow orcs looking out for her in the shadows, a precautionary measure Jin-Woo arranged to protect her. This convinced Groctar to eliminate her above all else.

However, fans know that Jin-Woo won’t forgive anyone who would dare lay their hands on his family. As soon as Jin-Woo learned about the incident, he would come to Jin-Ah’s rescue and show his rage to the foolish orc chief. This incident is proof that Jin-Ah isn’t fit to walk the path of a hunter, not because she lacks courage, but because the dangers surrounding Jin-Woo extend far beyond what an ordinary hunter could endure.
Sung Jin-Woo’s Sister Is a Hunter in Solo Leveling: Arise
Jin-Ah Awakened In the Solo Leveling: Arise Game
Surprisingly, in the Solo Leveling: Arise game, Sung Jin-Woo’s sister eventually awakened and became a hunter. Based on her hunter origins story, which is published on the game’s official website, Jin-Ah ends up becoming a hunter of the White Tiger Guild after she swears to not let any of her friends and loved ones die in her sight again. Her main motivation was the dungeon break at school, where she witnessed the deaths of her classmates.
For fans who want to see Jin-Ah become a hunter and wield her weapon of choice, a fancy umbrella, they are free to play her in the Solo Leveling: Arise game, where she is featured as one of the playable characters. Still, Jin-Ah remains a normal citizen in the original Solo Leveling series, with a dream of becoming a doctor instead of following in the footsteps of his brother.
