A Nightmare On Elm Street 7-Film 4K Blu-Ray Collection Is Available Now

One of the best horror franchises of all time is now available on 4K Blu-ray. A Nightmare on Elm Street 7-Film Collection brings the classic slasher series to 4K just in time for spooky season. Wes Craven’s original 1984 movie released on 4K Blu-ray last year, but the collection restores the rest of original saga in 4K for the first time. A Nightmare on Elm Street: 7-Film Collection is available for $97 at Amazon on launch day (September 30).

Unfortunately, the Amazon-exclusive Steelbook Library Collection remains sold out, and it seems unlikely that it will be restocked at this point.

Amazon-Exclusive Steelbook Library Collections

A Nightmare on Elm Street’s Amazon-exclusive box set is the fourth Steelbook Library Collection to release since June–and the third in September alone. Without a doubt, this has been the most challenging of the four to find in stock. The 007: Sean Connery 6-Film Steelbook Library Collection received a few restocks before selling out (seemingly for good).

The Dark Knight Trilogy and Superman 5-Film Collection launched in September. Amazon sold out of preorders for both, but surprisingly they are in stock at the time of writing. It’s worth noting that these box sets previously released in the UK. The US editions are exclusive to Amazon, but Walmart recently listed the region-free UK versions of the James Bond and Dark Knight Trilogy box sets. The UK set for the 007 collection comes with 4K Blu-ray and Blu-ray discs, whereas Amazon’s collection includes 4K and digital. Outside of that, it’s the same box set, but Walmart is charging $50 more.

As long as Amazon has The Dark Knight Trilogy Steelbook in stock, you should avoid the one at Walmart. Amazon’s edition comes with 4K, Blu-ray, and digital for $132, while Walmart is taking preorders for the same set without digital copies for $190.

It’s possible that all of the movies in the Elm Street collection will receive standalone 4K editions. Like Elm Street, Connery’s Bond movies had never been available on 4K Blu-ray before the 6-Film Collection. Also like Elm Street, the Bond collection has a standard 4K Blu-ray edition with a $105 MSRP. On September 23, just a few months after the 007 collection launched, all six Sean Connery Bond movies received standalone 4K Blu-ray editions priced at $30 each–but Amazon has since discounted each one to $23.79.

A Nightmare on Elm Street’s Steelbook Library Collection may be sold out, but you can still secure collectible editions of other new and upcoming horror movies on 4K Blu-ray. Amazon has exclusive Steelbook Editions of the first three Halloween movies, three Saw movies, Five Nights at Freddy’s, The Long Walk, and more.

Elm Street fans may also be happy to hear that the Steelbook Edition of Friday the 13th’s 8-Movie Collection is receiving a reprint on November 11. This is a standard Blu-ray box set, but preorders are available for only $34.87 (was $38) at Amazon.
