As you start to get into Digimon Story: Time Stranger, you might notice you’re locked out of several features, including the Agent Skills section of the Agent subscreen in the menu.
Also, once you complete missions, you’ll start earning a currency called Anomaly Points, but the game doesn’t explain to you what it’s used for and how to earn it until a few hours in. We’ll help explain it all to you!
How to Unlock Agent Skills in Digimon Story Time Stranger
The Agent Skills feature in the menu will be locked in Digimon Story: Time Stranger until you complete the ‘Time Stranger’ main story mission. This sounds like a late-game quest, but it will be in the opening hours after you beat Raremon in the Reunions Bring Trouble mission.
As soon as you start the next quest, Resonating Thoughts, you will get a call from the Operator, telling you all about Agent Skills.
Once you open up the Agent Skills menu, you can spend Anomaly Points to unlock abilities for you and your Digimon pals. You’ll get Anomaly Points by completing missions as you progress through the story. You’ll also get some from completing side missions.
There are essentially five different skill trees (Agent Skills) to choose from, each offering different upgrade paths.

How to Increase Agent Rank in Digimon Story: Time Stranger

You’ll need to increase your Agent Rank in Digimon Story: Time Stranger to evolve your Digimon. You’ll see unlock requirements for each one, and some may require your rank to be at a certain level.
To increase your Agent Rank, you just need to spend your earned Anomaly Points on new Agent Skills. At first, you will only need to use 10 points to get to Rank 2, but as you keep getting up in the ranks, it gets more expensive. To get to rank 3, for example, requires 150 Anomaly Points.
