Scott Pilgrim fans will no longer need a Netflix subscription to watch the franchise’s stellar animated series. Scott Pilgrim Takes Off is releasing on Blu-ray December 2, and preorders are available now for $25 at Amazon and $28 at Walmart. Many Netflix originals never receive physical editions, so it’s nice to see Scott Pilgrim Takes Off join a small list of exceptions that includes other animated hits like Castlevania, Arcane, and Sonic Prime.
$25 | Releases December 2
Scott Pilgrim Takes Off: The Complete Limited Series includes all eight episodes of the animated series on one Blu-ray disc. Each episode is just under 30 minutes, with a total runtime of 3 hours and 37 minutes.
Scott Pilgrim fans will be happy to know that the Blu-ray release includes audio commentaries for every episode featuring co-creators Bryan Lee O’Malley and BenDavid Grabinski.
The animated series tells a different story than the O’Malley’s original graphic novels and the live-action film adaptation. Scott Pilgrim vanishes in the first episode, and the rest of the series follows Ramona Flowers’ investigation into his disappearance.
The star-studded main cast from the movie reprised their roles in the series, including Michael Cera as Scott Pilgrim, Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Ramona Flowers, Chris Evans as Lucas Lee, Anna Kendrick as Stacey Pilgrim, Kieran Culkin as Wallace Wells, Satya Bhabha as Matt Patel, and Aubrey Plaza as Kim Pine.
Scott Pilgrim Takes Off earned widespread acclaim from critics and longtime fans upon its debut as a Netflix original series in November 2023.
If you want to revisit Scott Pilgrim vs. The World before your preorder arrives, you can grab the 4K Blu-ray edition of the beloved 2010 movie for only $16.36 (was $25) at Amazon. Standard Blu-ray and DVD editions are even cheaper. Directed by Edgar Wright, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World is well-regarded for its comic book-style cinematography and visual effects. Sadly, the movie wasn’t a hit at the box office, but the franchise has garnered a dedicated legion of fans. Without persistent fan support, Scott Pilgrim Takes Off almost certainly wouldn’t have happened. The same can be said about the 2021 rerelease of the Scott Pilgrim vs. The World beat-’em-up video game, which was originally delisted back in 2014.
Scott Pilgrim Graphic Novel Deals

If you haven’t read Bryan Lee O’Malley’s Scott Pilgrim graphic novel series, there are multiple physical formats to choose from. The original black-and-white series ran from 2004-2010 and then received a full-color makeover from 2012-2015. Last year, publisher Oni Press released stunning Scott Pilgrim 20th Anniversary Box Sets collecting the full series in hardcover. The box sets are packed in custom clamshell display cases along with O’Malley’s “Making of Scott Pilgrim” comics compilation, and a handful of collectibles, including holographic prints, posters, stickers, and more. The 20th Anniversary Black-and-White Box Set is available for only $76.78 (was $250) at Amazon. Alternatively, you can get the Precious Little Slipcase Collection, which comes with paperback editions of all six black-and-white volumes, for $57 (was $90).
The 20th Anniversary Color Box Set is discounted to $150 (was $250), but we have seen it for around $100 before. All six Color Editions are available individually in hardcover for $21 or less. Paperback compendiums with two volumes each retail for $30, but unfortunately one of the third and final compendium in the Color Collection is sold out.
