One of the best horror films of 2025 is now available on 4K Blu-ray. Weapons, the second feature from Barbarian director Zach Cregger, is in stock for $28 at Amazon and available to ship this week. That last part is key here, as the other three editions of Weapons have quite the estimated wait on launch day (October 14). After being sold out for two months, Weapons Limited Edition Steelbook is back in stock with an eye-watering $59 price.
Amazon is still referring to the Steelbook Edition as a preorder and doesn’t expect orders to ship until December 8. If you manage to secure a preorder, you won’t be charged until your order ships, so hopefully the price will drop back down to the $38-$45 range it was at originally. Note: Amazon sold out and restocked the Steelbook Edition three times in the last 15-20 minutes, so keep checking the store page if it’s unavailable when you click.
Meanwhile, the standard Blu-ray edition ($23) and DVD ($18) have delivery estimates ranging from one to two months at Amazon. Walmart has the Blu-ray edition in stock for $23 and the DVD for $18, and unlike Amazon, both editions are available to ship immediately. and can deliver your order as soon as tomorrow.

As mentioned, Weapons Limited Edition Steelbook had been sold out since preorders opened in early August. It initially sold out at a $38 price point at Amazon and Gruv, but it wound up selling out at Walmart with a $59 price point. It appears that there are some inventory issues with the Limited Edition Steelbook, since Amazon estimates orders placed today (October 14) won’t arrive until December 8. If you manage to secure a preorder, you won’t be charged until your order ships, so hopefully the price will drop back down before then.
The Steelbook Edition features Alex Lilly (Cary Christopher) staring out his window on the front, and the glow of 2:17 on an alarm clock on the back cover. The interior artwork shows the creepy version of Alex sitting alone in his classroom.
The Steelbook Edition comes with 4K Blu-ray, 1080p Blu-ray, and digital versions of Weapons.

Weapons is a captivating and exceedingly unsettling horror film that takes place in a small suburban town in Pennsylvania. When all but one child from the a third grade class inexplicably run from their homes at 2:17 AM one night, the community is left reeling with unimaginable loss. Initially, the focus of the investigation and the ire of Archer (Josh Brolin) and other grief-stricken parents falls on the third grade teacher Justine. But just like Barbarian, Cregger’s 2022 directorial debut, Weapons is far weirder, creepier, and disturbing than it may initially seem. Like Barbarian, Cregger wrote and directed Weapons. The story is brilliantly told through multiple viewpoints and jumps back and forth between before and after the kids go missing. Weapons is the one of the highest-rated horror movies of the year.
Unfortunately, Cregger’s first film, Barbarians, has yet to receive a physical release, so hopefully that’s in the cards at some point. Cregger’s next project is a Resident Evil adaptation set in the world of Resident Evil 2. It’s currently in pre-production and is slated to release in theaters next year.
The Steelbook Edition of Weapons may be incredibly expensive at the moment, but there is another critically acclaimed horror film with an upcoming Steelbook Edition that’s experiencing the exact opposite situation. The Amazon-exclusive 4K Steelbook Edition of The Long Walk is available to preorder for $26.65 (was $35). The Long Walk is one of the best-reviewed adaptations of a Stephen King novel in a long time. It’s one of numerous Amazon-exclusive Steelbook Editions horror fans can preorder now. Other standouts include a trio of Saw movies with extremely cool steelbook and slipcover artwork. Saw 2, 3, and 4 land on 4K Blu-ray for the first time October 28.
Horror fans can also preorder two steeply discounted Shudder Blu-ray collections. Shudder’s 10th Anniversary Collector’s Edition is up for grabs for only $62.38 (was $120) at Amazon. The box set includes 10 of Shudder’s biggest hits on 1080p Blu-ray. Meanwhile, Creepshow: Complete Series is discounted to only $53.22 (was $100). The collection includes all four seasons of the anthology series with comic-inspired cases and an awesome display box. Both Shudder box sets launch November 11.
