Sony’s PlayStation 5 has been around for a couple of years by this point, granting it plenty of opportunity to build up an expansive library capable of catering to the needs of most users. New PS5 games drop at an almost daily rate, ranging from smaller-scale indie projects designed by a handful of developers to massive AAA exclusives that are designed to be system sellers. In the meantime, the PlayStation 4 continues to receive love from cross-generation titles, so people who have yet to upgrade still have plenty to look forward to.

Which upcoming PS5 games will soon hit store shelves around the world? Which remaining 2025 PS5 games will set the world alight? The calendar lists the most notable PS5 release dates, along with their North American release dates if that information has been announced.

PS5 Games Coming In October 2025

Battlefield, Ghost of Yotei, Dark Pictures, & More

Ghost of Yotei is one of the biggest PS5 games of 2025, and Sucker Punch’s successor to Ghost of Tsushima has garnered wide acclaim. Set a few centuries after its predecessor, the game will follow Atsu as she seeks to take out a group of outlaws who murdered her family.

Ghost of Yotei will overshadow every other PlayStation 5 game released during this month, but The Dark Pictures Anthology: Directive 8020 is still a big deal for horror fans. Ninja Gaiden 4 looks set to be another exciting hack-and-slash game in the series, with PlatinumGames handling the sequel. The Outer Worlds 2 is also confirmed for the end of the month. Little Nightmares 3 is targeting October, the month of Halloween. Meanwhile, FPS fans might want to check out Painkiller. Battlefield 6 will also make its debut in October 2025, and the upcoming FPS game looks set to be massive.

PS5 Games Coming In November 2025

Call of Duty, Anno 117, & More

November 2025 will be one of the biggest months of the year, for one simple reason: Call of Duty. At this point, any new entry in the franchise is guaranteed to be among the best-selling games of the year, and Black Ops 7 should not be an exception. While the project is not attracting a lot of positive attention at the moment, that is ultimately irrelevant. COD is indestructible at this point.

Otherwise, November has a couple of other exciting releases. Anno 177 and Age of Empires 4 will satisfy two genres that are not commonly targeted on consoles. Unbeatable has a cool anime aesthetic, and SpongeBob SquarePants: Titans of the Tide should be a fun 3D platformer. S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl will finally make its way to the PS5, arriving on November 20.

December is traditionally pretty bad for gaming, as publishers generally avoid releasing anything in the last two weeks of the year. Even the first half of the month is usually lacking in major games, as most big names drop in October and November. Still, December 2025 has a couple of exciting PS5 games, including Code Violet and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. While not much is known about the action horror game, it looks pretty interesting. Octopath Traveler 0 should be good. Destiny 2‘s “Renegades” expansion is also scheduled for an early December release.
