PlayStation Mobile Spin-Off Ratchet & Clank: Ranger Rumble Canceled After Less Than a Year, Final Update Rolling Out Today

It was announced less than a year ago, but Ratchet & Clank: Ranger Rumble — a mobile spin-off of the flagship PlayStation series — has been canceled. Today marks the final update to the game, and it will shut down entirely in May 2027. The game was technically still in a soft launch phase, ahead of a full global release.

“We’ve made the difficult decision to cease development of Ratchet & Clank: Ranger Rumble. The final planned update will be rolling out November 6th, 2026, and the app will be removed from stores on November 21st, 2026. Players who already have the game will be able to continue playing until May 1st, 2027, when the game’s servers will permanently shut down. On behalf of the dev team and everyone helping to make the game, thanks to our amazing community for all your support, especially to those who have spent time playing, sharing feedback, and helping shape Ranger Rumble throughout its development!”

According to the official announcement, in-app purchases have been removed from the game, with the announcement advising players to use any in-game rewards or currency before the game shuts down. In an FAQ, players seeking some sort of refund for money spent are directed to Apple’s App Store or Google Play customer support.

The game offered arena shooter-style action with characters from the series and was developed by Oh BiBi in collaboration with Insonmiac Games and PlayStation Studios. As recently as July, the PlayStation blog shared that the game was “gearing up for global launch” after “a successful testing phase shaped by player feedback.”
