Sony has delayed its Pulse Elevate wireless speakers indefinitely, less than a week before they were due to launch.
The news came in a 6th November update to Sony’s original announcement on the PlayStation Blog, first spotted by IGN. Quality testing has turned up a “production issue”, Sony said, and there’s no new release date yet.
“As part of our ongoing quality testing of Pulse Elevate speakers, we have identified a production issue with the product and have made the decision to delay the launch,” the statement reads. “The additional time will allow us to ensure the product will deliver the experience we intended for our players. We apologise for the delay and appreciate your patience and understanding. We look forward to bringing Pulse Elevate to players soon.”
The speakers were set to go on sale worldwide on 12th November, and pre-orders opened in September. It’s unclear what, exactly, happens to those orders, but we’ll update as and when we find out more.
Sony revealed Pulse Elevate in September 2025 as its first wireless speakers for desktop gaming. They sit alongside the Pulse Elite headset and Pulse Explore earbuds, and cost £199.99 ($219.99).
They connect to PS5, PC, Mac, and PlayStation Portal via PlayStation Link, and can pair with a phone over Bluetooth at the same time. There’s also a microphone in the right speaker with what Sony calls “AI-enhanced noise rejection”.
Midnight Black was due to be available everywhere, while the White version was limited to a handful of countries, including the UK.
Alongside the Pulse Elevate speakers, Sony revealed a range of hardware in September 2025, including a 27-inch gaming monitor that’s coming only to the US and Japan.
