PlayStation State of Play Later This Month Claims Insider

It’s been a while since the last State of Play, and rumors say that another one is coming very soon. According to an insider, we’ll get another PlayStation State of Play later this month.

State of Play is Sony’s livestream event where they showcase the upcoming games for their consoles, as well as communicate with the fans about hardware and software updates as well as various other plans. The last State of Play was on September 24, 2024, when we saw the reveal of the Ghost of Yotei. And now, according to an insider, another one is pretty close.

Insider Believes the Next PlayStation State of Play Is Scheduled for Late January

It has been almost four months after the last State of Play livestream, and it’s about time we get another one. With all the game announcements circling the gaming community, it would be nice to see some official info and confirmations.

According to Roberto Serrano, a popular (and a bit controversial) insider, the next State of Play will happen on January 28 or January 29. “The first 2025 “State of Play”’ is expected this month, likely on January 28 or 29, with updates on titles from @PlayStation and third parties available this year for PS5”

He expects that we will get to see some additional information about the release of Horizon Online, Ghost Of Yōtei, Wolverine, and Death Stranding 2: On The Beach, with Ghost Of Yōtei being the most likely candidate for an official release date reveal.

A Healthy Pinch of Salt

Some parts of the community are not too trusting when it comes to Serrano, claiming he’s been wrong in the past. Some even call him out on it, stating he’s a fraud, and the earliest date for the State of Play is somewhere in February. While his predictions would be great, if true, better take this with a grain of salt. Hopefully, an official announcement is on the way.
