It’s time! After weeks of rumors, theories, and leaks, Helldivers are finally going into the Gloom! They completed the previous Major Order and liberated Erata Prime, all in a couple of days of hard work. Now, it’s time for Helldivers 2 players to get serious and go on an expedition into the Gloom for the latest Major Order. What horrors could possibly await inside?
The Major Order Sends Helldivers on an Expedition Into the Gloom
The new Major Order arrived on February 18. As always, a briefing arrived with it to further explain what was going on. Given that the Predator strain showed up pretty much out of nowhere, it’s good to see that the scientists are on the job.
The scientists from the Xenoentomology Center on Turing have come up with prototypes of Gloom-resistant equipment. This special equipment should be enough for Helldivers to explore low-density areas of the Gloom.
Since the incident with Angel’s Venture, it is of utmost importance that the scientists continue their research on how to stop the Meridian Singularity. However, they’ll need a lot more of E-710 to do so. As you may remember, scientists previously discovered that the bugs from the Gloom produce considerably more E-710 than the regular bugs.
The briefing concluded: “The Helldivers have been granted the privilege of being the first to venture into this new frontier. Fortuitously, Gloom conditions on FORI PRIME are remarkably favorable at the moment; the Helldivers are ordered to seize this opportunity and survey the planet for E-710”.

So, J.O.E.L gave players six days to venture into the Gloom and secure the needed E-710. During that time, Helldivers have to liberate Fori Prime, extract with 100 million Common Samples from Fori Prime, and kill 1 billion Terminids on Fori Prime.

The Expedition Won’t Be Easy-Peasy
New content is always fun, however, it seems that Helldivers 2 players will have some obstacles while on their expedition into the Gloom for the Major Order. Since no one knows what awaits in the Gloom, there are some technical issues.
Baskinator, the Community Manager, took to Discord and elaborated on some technical issues. She noted: “The fog clouds inside the Gloom are interfering with Super Destroyer systems across the galaxy. Helldivers are experiencing crashes on high-combat rating Gloom missions. We have isolated the issue and we are working on a hotfix as we speak, but until the fix is tested and ready, we are temporarily disabling certain enemies inside the Gloom to stop these crashes. You will still be able to play missions and it will count toward MO progress”.

Furthermore, all Helldivers should be aware of some in-game notifications. First up, the Predator strain of Terminids has been spotted on Fori Prime. At the time of writing this article, we’re unsure if Baskinator was referring to these creatures in the announcement. However, it’s better if you go in prepared for the worst. Also, a Strategic Update revealed that Helldivers wouldn’t be able to use the Democracy Space Station for their mission on Fori Prime.

It’s important to go in cool-headed, as we have no idea what we’re facing. Damien_Sin stated: “Remember folks: We’re going in blind here for the first time in 196 days and without the DSS. This is gonna be a massacre especially since we don’t know what else lies inside The Gloom. Godspeed”.
So, dear Helldiver, we’ll meet you on Fori Prime. The time has finally come and we hope you’re ready. We’ll bring the FRV, just in case we need a quick escape. See you there. For Liberty and Super Earth.
