No one is safe when the Culling Game begins
Season 3 of Jujutsu Kaisen, the hit anime based on Gege Akutami’s manga, will premiere exclusively on Crunchyroll on Jan. 8, 2026, as announced by the streaming service in an official press release. The new season will adapt the “Culling Game Arc” from the manga, which will bring nonstop battles to the screen and some much-anticipated returns.
If you want an early taste of the new season, the upcoming movie Jujutsu Kaisen: Execution will air in selected theatres on Dec. 5. It includes a recap of season 2 and the first two episodes of season 3, presented in cinematic format.
In season 3 of Jujutsu Kaisen, Yuji Itadori will struggle with the weight of the massacre committed by Sukuna in Shibuya. Yuji will also have to face the cruel authority of jujutsu society now that he’s lost the support of his mentor Gojo, trapped inside the Prison Realm. Meanwhile, Yuta Okkotsu, one of the strongest sorcerers in the world and Gojo’s former disciple, returns to Japan with the job of executing Yuji, but how will things play out? Suguru Geto/Kenjaku hatches a convoluted plan that will bring upheaval not just to jujutsu society, but to Japan and the entire world. It all begins with the sinister “Culling Game.”
Interestingly, the key art presents this season as “The Culling Game Part 1,” meaning that the arc will be split between several cours or seasons, which makes sense considering its length. Catch Jujutsu Kaisen season 3 when it premieres only on Crunchyroll on Jan. 8, 2026.
