Fallout 4 allows players to join all four of the game’s main factions. Eventually, though, there will come a point where they’ll need to make a choice. Siding with certain factions will ruin the player’s relationship with others, making it very difficult to see every possible ending during a single playthrough.
Fallout 4: All Romances, Ranked
Fallout 4 is one of those games that has a little something for everyone. And that little something includes several different romantic paths.
Thankfully, however, by understanding the points of no return for every faction, Fallout 4 players can use strategic save files to see every possible ending without having to resort to multiple playthroughs. This bodes well, as there are Trophies/Achievements available for completing each faction’s questline.
Warning: This guide contains spoilers for Fallout 4.
Brotherhood of Steel Point of No Return
Players can progress through the Brotherhood of Steel questline up until the Blind Betrayal main quest. However, reporting back to Elder Maxson and completing Blind Betrayal will automatically trigger Tactical Thinking, which will anger The Railroad.
The Institute Point of No Return
Although it’s okay to start the Mass Fusion mission, entering the Mass Fusion building will make the Brotherhood of Steel permanently hostile.
The Railroad Point of No Return
Players will need to complete Mankind Redefined and Mass Fusion as part of the Underground Undercover mission. As mentioned above, completing the second of these missions will make the Brotherhood hostile. As such, there is no way for players to turn in Underground Undercover while on good terms with every faction.
Minutemen Point of No Return
Unlike the other three factions, the Minutemen questline doesn’t have a point of no return, nor can players wipe them out or make permanent enemies out of them. As such, players can progress through the Minutemen questline without having to worry about angering other factions.
How to Get Every Fallout 4 Ending in One Playthrough
Once players have reached the three points of no return listed above, they should make a new save file. After doing so, they can turn in Blind Betrayal and complete the rest of the Brotherhood of Steel questline to see the first of the game’s four endings.
Next, players should reload their save and complete Mass Fusion, as well as any remaining Institute quests apart from End of the Line. It’s okay to trigger this quest, but players should hold off on completing it just yet. Instead, they’ll want to complete quests for The Railroad until the Rockets’ Red Glare mission begins, then make themselves a new save file.
The Most Powerful Weapons In Fallout 4, Ranked
Fallout 4 has a plethora of weapons for players to choose from, but these picks have got the rest beat in terms of power and destructive ability.
At this point, players can either complete Rocket’s Red Glare and then The Nuclear Option (Railroad) to see the Railroad ending or End of the Line, Airship Down, and Nuclear Family to see the Insitute ending. Reloading the second save file will allow them to see the other ending (and get the associated Trophy/Achievement) without having to start over from scratch.
With three endings down, the last thing for players to do is check in with The Minutemen. Assuming they’d already completed all of the available Minutemen missions prior to their last save file and have at least eight settlements, doing so will simply require them to become an enemy of The Institute and then speak with Preston. This will unlock the Defend the Castle mission, after which, players will gain access to The Nuclear Option (Minutemen) and the final Fallout 4 ending.

FAQ
Q: Can You Keep the Peace with All Four Fallout 4 Factions?
While it’s not possible to remain friendly with every faction in Fallout 4, players can keep the peace with three of them. To do so, they’ll need to anger The Institute and then progress through The Minutemen questline. Although doing so will lock them out of some of the other faction quests, neither The Railroad nor the Brotherhood will be destroyed, allowing players to finish their playthrough with three of the four factions friendly.
