Into the Fray can be one of the most dangerous tasks in ARC Raiders, which puts you up against a Leaper.
Unless you have been hiding under a rock this whole time, you’ll know just how dangerous a Leaper is. These robots can jump from unbelievable distances and trap you with their long legs. The Into the Fray quest, once obtained from Shani, requires you to hunt one down.
This guide will give you the best strategy for hunting down a Leaper.
ARC Raiders Into the Fray quest walkthrough
The Into the Fray quest can be broken down into the following parts.
- Destroy a Leaper
- Obtain a Leaper Pulse Unit
There’s no particular location for this quest. However, my favorite spot is the elevator between the Water Treatment Control Building and the Research and Administration Building. I have spotted plenty of Leapers at this location (based on map rotation).
You’ll find a few bunkers at this location. This is a prime reason why I specifically prefer this spot on the map. While the Leaper can jump at you from great distances, it can’t follow you inside any building. You don’t even have to keep the gates closed.
Once a Leaper has targeted you, quickly get inside the bunker. Then, start shooting at the Leaper. It won’t be able to get inside the bunker, and hence, it can’t damage you. If the Leaper starts to go away, bait it once again by shooting at it.
Once you destroy the Leaper, grab its Pulse Unit. Extract safely using the elevator lift at this location, and make sure to carry the Pulse Unit back with you to hand it over to Shani.
How to kill the Leaper
If you manage to get inside the bunker, there’s absolutely no way for it to damage your health. You’ll want to use weapons that shoot heavy ammo and explosives. Bring as many explosives as you can because they can help get the job done a bit faster.
You’ll want to either target the knee-like joints of its leg or the eye in the center. If you’re in the bunker, it’s really easy to target the eye with explosives. Once the explosives are finished, try hitting the eye. If you’re using the bunker method, stick exclusively to the eye, as disabling the Leaper’s movement isn’t going to offer much of an advantage.
