Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater is the be-all and end-all of skating games. Whether you have shown any interest in the skateboard or not, chances are you have played at least one Tony Hawk game at some point in your life. And now, a remaster of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 is allegedly getting shadow dropped (ie, dropped without prior announcements), according to some rumors.
Starting in 1999, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater is a beloved series of skateboarding games, where you simply ride a skateboard and make flashy combos to achieve the highest score possible, all while listening to some awesome soundtracks. The game is even better when you “compete” with a friend. The last major title we had was Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5, released back in 2015, after which the license expired. No new titles were released since then, but, in 2020, a studio called Vicarious Visions has remastered the first two THPS games. And now, the remaster of third and fourth game is allegedly on the way.
According to eXtas1s, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 Remaster Will Be Shadow Dropped at the Xbox Summer Showcase in June
In a recent video, eXtas1s, a popular gaming insider from Span, said that Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 Remaster will get a surprise release (or a shadow drop, as it is commonly said) at the Xbox Summer Showcase in June. It will be playable on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X and S.
If these rumors prove true, the fans are in for a treat. You can already see comments like “Please! THPS4 was my favourite one growing up. I loved the Alcatraz level.” by TheLimeyLemmon, and “Probably one of the best shadow drops in history if true. Thats a AAA game if its like the 1+2 remakes.” added RDO-PrivateLobbies. As for who is the developer of this remaster, the previous one, Vicarious Visions, was absorbed by Blizzard so chances are Blizzard Activision will be responsible for this one as well.
