EA and Battlefield Studios give players a new roadmap for the next two big updates for Battlefield 6, starting on November 18 with the California Resistance patch. Although it hasn’t always been smooth, Battlefield 6 continues at a rapid pace as EA, DICE, and the other involved development studios chart out a plan of action for the rest of 2025.
In the middle of Season 1, fans already have a decent idea of what’s coming thanks to Battlefield 6‘s previous content roadmap. Starting on November 18, the second part of Season 1 arrives with the California Resistance, finally adding a large scale Eastwood map to the game, the Sabotage limited time mode, new weapons, attachments, and more. However, alongside the content, Battlefield Studios is also laying out a plan to address some of the bigger issues and player concerns still impacting the experience.
Battlefield 6 California Resistance Update
In a new post, the Battlefield Comms team gave fans a state of the game style update, highlighting what can be expected through the next couple of major patches. The first, coming on November 18 alongside the California Resistance update, will finally address the issues with weapon bloom in Battlefield 6. The developers have made a tuning pass to all weapons that “reduces how quickly dispersion and recoil build up during sustained fire.” The update hopes to make weapons feel smoother to use and more consistent at longer ranges.
Alongside the dispersion fix, November 18 also brings with it further aim assist adjustments in Battlefield 6, something which was hinted at previously. The post reveals that tuning is similar to how it was during the open beta. Challenge descriptions are also being clarified, more segments of Fort Lyndon are being made available in Portal, and the team has made another pass at lighting adjustments to help make enemies slightly easier to see, especially when transitioning from indoor to outdoor.
The next big target is the Winter Offensive Update in Battlefield 6, slated for launch on December 9. The post teased some of the bigger updates coming in there, including a vehicle tuning balance pass to help make them more consistent. Breakthrough and Rush game modes are also getting various adjustments and improvements. For example, Mirak Valley in Breakthrough has had its capture zones adjusted to limit potential bottlenecks. MCOM placements on Manhattan Bridge and Liberation Peak have also been updated to improve attacking routes.
However, the post also provided players with a small update on some of the longer-term plans the studios have for Battlefield 6. One of the bigger criticisms from fans is the lack of big maps in Battlefield 6, to which the update indicates that the studios are monitoring feedback and studying community creations in Portal in an effort to providing a variety of map types across future seasons. Future plans include UI and Menu improvements, expanded stat tracking, hit registration adjustments, further reviews of challenges, and enhancements to social and group play.
