How to prevent Packet Bursts in Call of Duty Black Ops 7

Call of Duty Black Ops 7 players are already running into issues of Packet Bursts while trying to enjoy the different modes, and there are a few solutions to try out.

Having Packet Bursts on the opening day isn’t uncommon, and it has occurred with older Call of Duty titles. Packets Bursts typically happen due to issues with your internet and servers in general; however, there are a few extra settings to tweak to reduce the problems at hand.

Here are a few settings to tweak if you’re getting Packet Bursts (despite having no problems with your internet).

  • Disable On-Demand Texture Streaming: While you can’t turn it off entirely, you can set it to minimal. When set to optimized, it will download surface textures while you’re playing the egame actively. Not only is the high-quality texture going to affect your setup graphically, but it will also consume your internet bandwidth. You can change this setting from Graphics.
  • Disable Dismemberment and Gore Effects: I might love dismembering zombies and enemies while spraying them with bullets, but it’s going to increase the information being fed to the servers. If you’re getting network issues, I will keep this feature turned off even if it reduces the immersive feel of Black Ops 7.

  • Lower VRAM: You can reduce the VRAM Scale Target from your settings to reduce the amount of VRAM being used by Black Ops 7. Having more VRAM allows the game to perform better, but it will cause lag if it’s consuming more space than required and conflicts with other operational apps.

Finally, make sure to check your internet if you’re still getting Packet Bursts while trying to enjoy a session. Additionally, wait a bit for the game to download and pre-load all the shaders across the three modes. This will reduce the chances of issues with the internet popping up as you’re trying to pop the skull of an enemy.
