Major retailers such a Amazon, Best Buy, Walmart, and Target are hosting early Black Friday video game promotions filled with dozens of notable games and collections. We separated Nintendo Switch 2 and Switch games into two lists, but keep in mind that original Switch games are playable on Nintendo’s new console. Some original Switch games have received free or paid Switch 2 upgrades, and others simply run better on the more powerful hardware by default.
The Nintendo Switch 2 list is, rather unsurprisingly, significantly shorter than the Switch list, but there are numerous titles on sale for all-time low prices. Multiple EA Sports and 2K Sports titles are at least 50% off. Madden NFL 26 and EA Sports FC 26 are down to $35 (was $70). Basketball fans can save even more by snagging NBA 2K26 fo only $30 (was $70). Outside of sports, you’ll find the recently released Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake for $50 (was $60), Hogwarts Legacy for $50 (was $60), and Sid Meier’s Civilization VII for $45 (was $70).
Most of the titles listed below are physical editions with Game-Key Card, which means you’ll need to download the game data from the eShop after inserting the cartridge. A few games, such as Civ 7 and WWE 2K25 come with a voucher inside the box instead.
Yes, there are a lot of Nintendo Switch game deals ahead of Black Friday 2025, many of which are discounted to the best prices yet. The sale is particularly good for retro enthusiasts, as you’ll find a bunch of remastered games and collections for cheap. If you want to expand your JRPG collection, now’s a great time to do it. Final Fantasy I-VI Collection Anniversary Edition is available for a $35 discount, dropping it to a new low of just $40 for all six Pixel Remasters. Sticking with Square Enix, Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake is only $35 and has a free Switch 2 upgrade. Three other Square Enix JRPGs are up for grabs for $30 each: Romancing SaGa 2’s superb remake, Star Ocean: The Second Story R, and Fantasian Neo Dimension, which was produced by Final Fantasy’s original director.
Amazon also has terrific offers remastered PS1 and PS2 action games, including Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 1&2 Remastered, both Tomb Raider Remastered collections, and Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy Definitive Edition. Speaking of Rockstar Games, the physical edition of Red Dead Redemption is $25–half the price of the eShop version–and a free Switch 2 upgrade launches Deccember 2.
