Drifter is one of the two new characters added to Risk of Rain 2 as part of the Alloyed Collective DLC, and you’ll have to unlock her before being able to use her in a battle.

The exact unlock process isn’t simple, and it has multiple steps. You’ll also need to own the DLC first. This guide will tell you the exact steps required to unlock and add her as a playable character.

How to unlock the Drifter in Risk of Rain 2 Alloyed Collective

Complete the following steps in the same order to unlock the Drifter.

  • Reach Solus Wing, who is the final boss of Alloyed Collective. This is the hardest fight in the entire expansion, so keep that in mind.
  • Once you defeat Solus Wing, you can explore the remains of the Solutional Haunt. There will be an open portal.

  • Don’t enter the portal, and instead go to the top area using zip lines. You’ll get the remains of two Alloyed units on two separate platforms. Interact with both and you’ll get Prison Matrix.
  • When you grab the Prison Matrix, there will be enemy spawns, and you’ll have to kill them all.
  • Take the two Prison Matrixes in the Vault, and offer them both to unlock Drifter.

This will complete the Lost in Transit challenge and add Drifter as a new playable Survivor.
