How to Get Guardian Palm Skill (Buddhist Palm Technique)

The Guardian Palm skill in Where Winds Meet is an AOE damage tool that’s great for flattening multiple opponents at once. It doesn’t deal as much damage as some other Mystic Skills, but if all you’re looking for is something that can give you some breathing room when clearing PvE content, then this is definitely going to help you out (and make you look cool in the process).

Getting the Guardian Palm skill is fairly straightforward, and it’s one of the best skills you can get early in Where Winds Meet. Here’s what you need to do to unlock it.

You can get Guardian Palm by completing a quest called Where a Thousand Buddhas Wept. This is found in the northern part of Qinghe, right along shoreline at the top-most side. Northern Qinghe’s map is hidden by default, and if you want to clear it up before taking this quest, go to the Wayfarer in the region (marked by the campfire icon on the map) and ask him for help.

Thankfully, Where a Thousand Buddhas Wept is a very straightforward quest. Unlike March of the Dead or other side quests that require a lot of effort, all you need to do in this one is do what you’re told. It should take no more than a few minutes to finish Where a Thousand Buddhas wept, and by the end, you’ll get the tome that unlocks the Guardian Palm skill (among other things).

While following the procession, don’t break away from the formation, and once you reach the crowd halfway through, wait until the praying man finishes kowtowing.

Guardian Palm is a three-part combo that strikes all enemies in front of you with a crushing spirit palm by the end of the attack chain. Equip it in one of your vacant Mystic Skill slots, then press the corresponding button to use it.

There’s an extra move to the Guardian Palm technique that lets you do a plunging Buddha palm attack similar to the Buddhist Palm Technique seen in the Kung Fu Hustle film. To do this, you need to first reach a sufficient height by using other Mystic Skills (such as Cloud Steps). Then, press your Guardian Palm skill binding, and your character will do the plunging attack.

This plunging move deals serious damage over a large area, making it one of the best skills in the game for dealing big AOE damage. It works especially well with weapons that have wide, sweeping moves. If you started with the Thundercry Blade in Where Winds Meet, or if you’ve unlocked the Heavenquaker Spear early, then the Guardian Palm skill will serve as an excellent complement to the AOE potential of those martial arts types.
