PSA: Battlefield 6 is free this week

Just under two months after it launched, Battlefield 6 is having a one-week long free trial period. Taking place from Nov. 25 to Dec. 2, a stripped-back version of Battlefield 6’s multiplayer mode is free to everyone on PlayStation 5, Windows PC, and Xbox Series X.

Three maps are available — Cairo, Eastwood, and Blackwell Fields — with the latter two being new additions as part of the recent season 1 content. There will also be five modes to play: Conquest, Breakthrough, Sabotage, Team Deathmatch, and one more that hasn’t been confirmed yet.

To ensure you can play during the free trial, you need to have Battlefield Redsec downloaded, which means the trial will likely be an update to the stand-alone battle royale game.

This free trial comes one week into California Resistance, the second content update in Season 1, which brought the aforementioned Eastwood and Sabotage, alongside two new weapons — a shotgun and revolver — plus golf carts and battle pickups, which are “weapons of unprecedented power”, such as a chargeable railgun and a minigun with a ridiculous fire rate. Also new: the Rodeo Gauntlet mission in Redsec, and the Portal Sandbox mode.

You can read more about the free trial and everything in the California Resistance update on the official blog post, and keep your eye out for a further blog post with more details coming when the free trial begins on Tuesday.
