One of the greatest joys of gaming has always been the ability to play together with family, friends, or strangers. Whether you’re sitting on the same couch or half a world away from one another, playing co-op games is an amazing way to make new friends, bond with existing ones, and share experiences that can be frustrating, hilarious, triumphant, and much more.
2025 saw a wide range of co-op games released, from sprawling survival titles to classic beat ’em ups and RPGs, roguelikes, and more. It was a particularly good year for new IPs, although there were also some stellar sequels and wonderful new entries in existing franchises, all presented here in alphabetical order.
Abiotic Factor

A survival game with a sci-fi twist, Deep Field Games’ Abiotic Factor puts players into the role of scientists who have become trapped in an underground facility. Players must work together to explore the complex while managing a wide range of survival factors, ranging from simple hunger to radiation poisoning. At night, portals appear and send enemies into the facility, and players have to team up to defend themselves from deadly monsters such as the Moving Box until the lights come on again. Every day and night is a struggle to survive, but as they expand and explore, Abiotic Factors’ players can also discover a fascinating story explaining just why they found themselves in this strange situation to begin with.

Absolum

Absolum is a classic beat ’em up with RPG and roguelike elements that allows players to choose between multiple classes with unique abilities. Players can team up to take on Sun King Azra as they step into the role of Galandra, Karl, Cider, or Brome, each character featuring unique gameplay elements and skills. The game is challenging—its final boss is particularly tricky—but players working together will come out on top. One of 2025’s most unique and innovative new IPs, Absolum tells a layered and twist-filled story while also featuring plenty of classic side-scoller gameplay elements for players to enjoy.

ARC Raiders

Elden Ring Nightreign

In 2025, Elden Ring fans got to return to the Lands Between in Elden Ring Nightreign, a cooperative roguelike action title with elements drawn from the battle royale and RPG genres. Teams of three Nightfarers have three days to defeat a boss, and they must prepare by fighting enemies in an ever-shrinking gameplay area. Throughout 2025, developer FromSoftware has added new—and increasingly difficult—challenges for players to face in the form of new Everdark Sovereigns to defeat. Elden Ring Nightreign features the fiendish difficulty expected of an Elden Ring title, but shows players that they are stronger together and that teamwork and cooperation are needed to defeat the Nightlords and end the Night’s dominance for good.
Elden Ring Neightrein’s Forsaken Hollows DLC releases on December 4.
Marvel Cosmic Invasion

Marvel Cosmic Invasion has been praised for appealing to the 80s and 90s nostalgia many superhero fans feel, as well as a rich co-op gameplay experience that encourages teamwork in the form of unique tag team attacks. This galaxy-spanning adventure officially launches on December 1, 2025, but trust, you’ll want to check it out with your co-op partner.

One of 2025’s most delightful surprises, PEAK was initially developed by Aggro Crab in only four weeks as a game jam submission. Following its official release in June 2025, this cooperative mountain climber became popular for its chaotic gameplay, wide variety of available biomes, and hilarious moments ranging from falling off a cliff to accidentally consuming a poisoned fruit. Developer Aggro Crab has continuously updated PEAK, with new biomes, items, and more released regularly. This 2025 standout will continue to bring chaotic fun to game nights and streams alike for many years to come.

2022’s Powerwash Simulator turned an everyday chore into a fun adventure, allowing players to clean everything from a suburban home to SpongeBob’s pineapple. Its 2025 sequel, Powerwash Simulator 2, brought even more sudsy fun, complete with new types of soap and new tools to help remove even the stubbornest stains. Players can work together to clean locations throughout Caldera County in an attempt to win the “Town of the Year” competition, while along the way, discovering a centuries-spanning plot with potentially dire consequences for the humble town of Muckingham. With plenty of DLC revealed for 2026, the co-op powerwashing fun will continue throughout the coming year.

RV There Yet?

It’s the question no driver wants to hear mid road-trip: “Are we there yet?” But RV There Yet?, the physics-based co-op driving adventure from developer Nuggets Entertainment, dares to ask it. Players take on the role of friends returning home from a road trip in the titular RV. When they are forced to take an alternate route and wind up in the danger-filled Mabutts Valley, chaos ensues. Working as a team, players must winch their RV through, over, and around various obstacles—while also taking the time to stop and enjoy a burger or a smoke with some beautiful views. Just don’t forget the EpiPens because RV There Yet?’s wildlife is far from friendly.
