Everyone loves collaborations, especially in the gaming world. It is an opportunity for different franchises to mix, usually resulting in exclusive cosmetics and special events. It turned out great for Stellar Blade when it did a collab with Nier: Automata. As for TFD, it is a game perfect for collabs but we’re yet to get one. Finally, Nexon reveals that a collab is on the way for The First Descendant, along with teasing a companion app.
We recently had an AMA session where the devs answered a bunch of fan questions. Nexon even addressed the infamous “Ghost Bullets” issue. A lot of questions were about Void Erosion Purge improvements and new content, but some fans asked about collabs and the devs revealed some info.
The First Descendant AMA Session Reveals Some Information Regarding the Upcoming Collab…
It was simply a matter of time before TFD got to do a collab with another franchise. As previously mentioned, Stellar Blade has done a collab with Nier, and one with Nikke is in the works. All of those games are perfect to join forces with The First Descendant, but is there any official info on all of this? Thankfully, there is!
It was revealed that the first TFD collab is scheduled for Season 3, in Summer. However, the exact IP that TFD will team up with is still unknown to us, ie, the devs won’t reveal it.
“We are preparing a collaboration for Season 3 (summer). Although we can’t reveal which IP we are collaborating with just yet, please look forward to it! ^^” said Minseok Joo. Afterward, Beom-jun Lee added: “The first collaboration will launch in Season 3 this summer, and we are continuously discussing ways to bring more collaborations in the future.”
Lee already admitted that he’d love to see 2B from Nier: Automata join the game, which is just perfect for a collaboration. But, we’ll have to be patient. On top of all that, there was another little tease…
…And A Companion App??
The First Descendant has so many things to keep track of, and since there is no official app, the fans took matters into their own hands. We saw some handy tracker and companion app ideas, but nothing official. And now, in the most recent AMA session, Beom-jun Lee said: “I probably shouldn’t be leaking this, but the companion app is in development!”
No further details were revealed, unfortunately. Still, it’s great knowing that they’re designing an official app. Hopefully, all these improvements and ideas will help bring TFD’s player count back on track.
