Astra Malorum Easter Egg Walkthrough – CoD BO7

Here’s an easy step-by-step guide that will take you through the entire main easter egg quest for Astra Malorum in Black Ops 7 Zombies!

How to Start the Mars Pillars Step in Astra Malorum & Get the Mars Bird

To begin, you’ll obviously first need to have access to Mars in Astra Malorum. We have a guide specifically for that step, which you can find here. Now that you’re on Mars, you’re going to want to pick up Dr. Thurston’s Brain in the center of the map, and then place it within the altar in the upper section of Mars. Now, interact with Dr. Thurston’s Brain in the altar to trigger an audio cue.

With the audio cue triggered, immediately head to the east window of Mars, where you will find 4 pylons off in the distance. With your gun, shoot the furthest right pylon, and it will glow blue and attract the Ascendant Eye bird. Now, shoot the furthest left pylon, then the closest right pylon, then finally the closest left pylon.

Once the pylons are active, immediately turn around and shoot the pylon orb above the altar when facing west. This will glow blue, and force the Ascendant Eye to freeze in place. You must continue to activate the orb to freeze the Ascendant Eye while waiting for low-gravity, and while waiting for the Ascendant Eye to be within a low enough spot to grab it with a jump. Once you have it, place it in the altar found in the south.

How to Solve the Mars Symbols & Pillars Puzzle in Astra Malorum

With the Ascendant Eye in place, you’re going to want to use the LGM-1 Wonder Weapon to shoot the top of 5 unique pillars found on Mars. Doing so correctly will see the top of the pillars glow blue. These pillars are all within the room, and you’ll have to shoot the golden antennas that are on the top of these pillars. If any pillar is missing an antenna, try starting a new round, or continue with the next step:

  • One pillar is found in the south, to the right of the Ascendant Eye.
  • One pillar is found when facing west, to the right of Dr. Thurston’s Brain.
  • One pillar is found when facing west, to the left of Dr. Thurston’s Brain.
  • Two pillars are found when facing north, between a broken pillar.

You’re going to want to take the portal that takes you back to Astra Malorum and enter the Observatory Core. Interact with the device on the right of the piano, and watch for 5 unique symbols that will appear. These symbols will have a unique sequence, but one of the symbols will be blank, represented by sound waves. To find the blank symbol, locate the pillar symbol on Mars that doesn’t correspond with your shown symbols, so you know where it’ll be in your sequence.

To solve the Mars pillars and symbols puzzle, you will need to interact with each of the symbols on the pillars on Mars in the same sequence shown by the piano. These symbols look a tad different from piano to pillar, so we’ve translated each symbol to provide you with a visual guide.

To solve the puzzle, you must interact with each of the symbols on the pillars in quick succession. You will know that you’ve done the step correctly, as the pillar faces will turn blue instead of red, and you can now visit Dr. Thurston’s Brain to interact with him and begin the boss fight.
