The Jury Is In! Helldivers 2 Players Love the Spore Burst Bugs

Helldivers have finally made their way into the Gloom! For the first time since the giant spore cloud appeared over the bug front, the players have an opportunity to explore what lurks from within. The mutated Terminids were previously leaked, so the players had some idea of what to expect. However, the Helldivers 2 community expected much worse from the Spore Burst bugs. As it turns out, they aren’t as terrifying as they seem, and it’s actually fun to fight them.

Spore Burst Bugs Joined the Second Galactic War

As you know, the latest Major Order sent the Helldivers on Fori Prime, where the Gloom isn’t as “thick”. There, they met the eerie versions of Scavengers, Warriors, and Hunters. As of the time of writing this article, there have been no sightings of the teased new bug, but some players claim yet another bug might show its hideous face – the Hive Lord from the first installment of the game.

Even though Helldivers are struggling with some parts of the Major Order, like actually liberating Fori Prime, they easily finished one of the objectives. One billion bugs seems like a lot, but Helldivers decimated them in mere days.

Helldivers Are Fond of Squishing the New Strain of Bugs

There is something about the Spore Burst bugs that makes the Helldivers 2 players enjoy popping them. Even though these bugs seemed terrifying at first, players easily learned to enjoy facing them.

Jonny_Guistark stated: “Loving all the new enemy designs so far. They may not add much in the way of challenge, but seeing all the normally “healthy” bugs looking like disgusting fungal cordyceps creatures really adds a lot to the overall atmosphere. It’s like the Flood levels in Halo where things suddenly pivot into horror territory”.

Many players praised the design and the attention to detail. Wrench_gaming noted: “I just like how they take biological aspects seriously. It looks like one of those funguses that takes over the mind of an insect irl”.

Um, call us overly cautious, but, we hope the Helldivers who make it out of the Gloom will have some sort of check-up. Imagine going into the Gloom and then spreading the spores on unaffected planets. Sounds like a nightmare.

However, the solution for stopping the Meridian SIngularity, and whatever is happening with Moradesh, lies in the Gloom. So, dear Helldiver, join us on Fori Prime. For Liberty and Super Earth.
