Compulsion Games has revealed that its current Xbox console exclusive, South of Midnight, will be coming to other consoles in Spring 2026. The game, which is set in a fictionalised American Deep South and makes use of a stop-motion inspired art style, is now confirmed to be releasing on PS5 and Switch 2.
In Eurogamer’s review, Chris Tapsell said that “South of Midnight is gloriously pretty, a game of sumptuous environmental detail and rich attention,” but that it can “get tiresome to play.” It was awarded 3 stars.
No details on how each version of South of Midnight will be tailored to the new platforms has been released, but a tweet by Compulsion does mention the PS5 Pro, suggesting we might be getting some form of enhancement for Sony’s beefed up console.
South of Midnight walked away as a winner from The Game Awards 2025, the game claiming the Games for Impact award at the show. You can see the dev team accept the award in the clip from the event embeded below.
