Sony released a virtual reality set for PS5 back in February 2023. But now, 2 years after the official release, PlayStation VR2 is about to get a massive price cut.
Virtual Reality games, or VR, have grown in popularity in recent years, thanks to the advances in VR technology. The games progressed from looking derpy and pixelated to popular titles of today, like Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes, Half-Life: Alyx, Beat Saber, Resident Evil 4, and more. But the downside is that you usually need a special setup to run VR games or just the pricy “VR goggles”. Thankfully, one of those goggles is about to get a price cut.
PlayStation VR2 Gets a Significant Price Cut In March
On February 27, Sony announced that starting in March 2025, the PS VR2 would get a notable price reduction.
The current retail price is about $549.99. The new recommended retail price for PlayStation VR2 is $399.99 / €449.99 / £399.99 / ¥66,980 (includes tax for EUR, GBP, and JPY).
That is about $150 less than it is right now! It is worth noting that the set includes a PS VR2 headset, a PS VR2 Sense controller, and stereo headphones.
PlayStation VR2 Horizon Call of the Mountain Bundle
There will also be a bundle with a Horizon VR game called the PlayStation VR2 Horizon Call of the Mountain Bundle.
The price for that one will be $399.99 / €449.99 / £399.99 / ¥66,980 (includes tax for EUR, GBP, and JPY). It includes all the same components as the PlayStation VR2, but with a voucher code for the Horizon Call of the Mountain game added.
The price reduction of almost 30% percent is nothing to scoff at, so if you ever wanted to add a VR set to your PlayStation 5 setup, you’re in luck.
