Solo Leveling’s two seasons have been of the highest quality, and A-1 Pictures deserves a lot of credit for its efforts. Over the course of the anime, fans were treated to some amazing characters, who will always be remembered in their memories. Unfortunately, a lot of the characters were killed, meaning they can no longer play an important role in the story.
Solo Leveling: All Arcs That Will Be In Season 3
Solo Leveling’s third season could be the biggest one to date.
The third season of Solo Leveling won’t be too different in this regard, so fans can expect to see several individuals meeting their end in one way or another. With that in mind, here are the characters who will die in Solo Leveling Season 3.
This post contains spoilers for Solo Leveling.
Hwang Dong-soo
Affiliation: Scavenger Guild
Hwang Dong-soo is an S-rank Hunter from Korea. Driven by fame and greed, he joined the Scavenger Guild, which was led by Thomas Andre. Hwang Dong-soo is a vicious and violent man who has absolutely no issues abusing his status and power to get what he wants. By repeatedly taking advantage of his strength, Hwang Dong-soo has created a notorious reputation, which is why most people stay clear of him.
After narrowly surviving an altercation with Sung Il-Hwan, one might think that Hwang Dong-soo learned his lesson to stay away from the former’s family, which included Jinwoo. However, Hwang Dong-soo is going to make the same mistake again in season 3, and the only difference is that he won’t make it out alive.
Christopher Reed
Affiliation: USA
Christopher Reed is one of the National Level Hunters who participated in the battle against the mighty Kamish many years ago. Considering his status, it’s shocking that he could be beaten, much less killed. However, Solo Leveling fans should remember that there is always going to be a stronger character, no matter who they are.
Solo Leveling: The Best Villains, Ranked
The Solo Leveling manhwa is full of complex, fascinating villains. These are the best that Sung Jinwoo finds himself up against.
Christopher Reed is also a victim of this particular plot device. In the third season, he will be ambushed by Sillad and Rakan, two powerful Monarchs who will put his life to an end. Christopher Reed might have had a chance to escape if it were just one Monarch, but two were just overkill.
Sung Il-Hwan
Affiliation: Rulers
Sung Il-Hwan is the father of Jinwoo and Jinah. After failing to escape from a gate, he was presumed dead by everyone. However, he debunked it with his appearance in the first season of the anime. While Sung Il-Hwan is alive, he has yet to go back to Korea to meet his family.
In Season 3, Sung Il-Hwan will likely meet Jinwoo in Japan. However, the encounter won’t be a pleasant one, as Sung Il-Hwan will be on the verge of death after stalling Sillad and Rakan, two Monarchs, for a few minutes. Needless to say, it will be an emotionally overwhelming moment for Jinwoo.
Kandiaru
Affiliation: Shadow Monarch
Kandiaru, better known as the Architect, is the person responsible for designing the System based on the needs of the Shadow Monarch. He sided with the Monarch and helped him find a suitable vessel. Fans haven’t seen Kandiaru in the first two seasons, but that will change soon. As he is involved in the Double Dungeon Arc, which has a solid chance of being adapted in the third season.
Solo Leveling: 8 Enemies Sung Jin-Woo Defeated Too Easily
These are the weakest enemies Sung Jinwoo encountered in Solo Leveling, dispatching them with ease.
Kandiaru will face off against Sung Jinwoo and test the hero’s power. The Architect wants to know whether Jinwoo is ready to become the vessel of the Shadow Monarch. The fight between the two will be intense, and for a long time, Kandiaru will have the edge, but eventually, he will be beaten by Sung Jinwoo. Considering how brutally Jinwoo beats him up, there’s a small chance of Kandiaru surviving.
Yuri Orlov
Affiliation: Russia
Yuri Orlov is an S-rank Hunter from Russia who will be involved in the Japan Crisis Arc. He is a greedy person, willing to do any kind of job for money. In the arc, the Japanese authorities approach Yuri Orlov and offer him an astounding amount of money to protect the country from the creatures that emerge from the S-rank Gate. Normally, the higher-ups would have relied on their own S-rank Hunters, but the tragedy at Jeju Island severely crippled their strength.
Yuri Orlov agrees, as he is overconfident in his barriers. Unfortunately for him, instead of regular magical beasts, giants spawn from the gate. These powerful foes are able to break the barriers easily, after which they devour Yuri Orlov, bringing an end to his life.
Sung Jinwoo
Affiliation: Ahjin Guild
Sung Jinwoo is the main protagonist of Solo Leveling, so it would obviously be bizarre if he were to die before the story ended. But the truth is that he actually does end up dying, although just temporarily. This happens when Rakan, Sillad, and Querehsha confront Jinwoo. Fighting a single Monarch is a challenge for most people in Solo Leveling, so going up against three is certainly much more difficult.
In the fight, Sung Jinwoo dies only to awaken as the true Shadow Monarch. Following the hiccup, Sung Jinwoo’s strength increases severalfold, and he’s able to take down the Monarchs with little to no difficulty.
