Farming is one of the most convenient systems in Monster Hunter, giving you access to a wide range of items across the regions. Compared to World, Monster Hunter Wilds’ Farm functions differently, separating from the standard Botanical Farm. Here’s what you need to do to unlock this feature.
How do you unlock the Farm in MH Wilds?
You must reach Chapter 4-2 to unlock Farming in Monster Hunter Wilds, which will require completing the game’s main story. Once you reach this point, travel to each region to begin a Material Retrieval side mission. For example, if you go to Oilwell Basin, you can start Aida’s quest to unlock Farming in this destination. You’ll then see a Material Retrieval icon on the map, displaying a Farm NPC’s exact location.
If you want the NPC to search for specific Crafting Materials, ask them, ‘Could you help me gather items?’ Some resources will have a lot more chances than others, but you can still test your luck with the rare materials.

Let’s go over what side missions you’ll need to complete for each region and what to expect with their MH Wilds’ Material Retrieval Farms.

Travel to Oilwell Basin’s Azuz Everforge to speak to Aida. Embark on the Aida’s Apprehensions side mission, mandating you to eliminate a Rompopoplo. You’ll most likely find these creatures in Areas 14 and Area 10. After you’ve defeated the Rompopolo, speak to Sabar to gain some much-needed materials.
