Film adaptations of video games are pretty hot at the moment, with the likes of The Minecraft Movie and The Super Mario Bros. Movie making big money. Next year we’re getting a new take on Street Fighter, and now we’ve got the first look at it in action.

The trailer, which clocks in at under one minute, shows off many of the movie’s (and game’s) main characters, including Guile (wrestler Cody Rhodes), M. Bison (David Dastmalchian), and Akuma (wrestler Roman Reigns). If you know what you’re looking for you can see Guile’s flash kick and the classic car smashing bonus stage from Street Fighter 2.
Neat, right? What’s even neater is the car carrying the same IC29 licence plate from the game.
Street Fighter is releasing in cinemas on 16th October, 2026. The latest game in the series, Street Fighter 6, released back in June 2023 on PS4, PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S, and was followed by a release on Switch 2 for the console’s launch in June this year.
What do you make of the trailer, and did you spot any more moves from the games? Surely it’s got to be better than the Jean-Claude Van Damme-starring adapation from 1994.
