“Did We Just Delay the New Content?” Helldivers 2 Players Completed the Major Order But It Might Be a Pyrrhic Victory

The Helldivers were victorious! Or were they? Even though the last Major Order lasted only four days, it felt much longer. During that period, Helldivers 2 players had to make a tough decision which, according to some, would lead to a new content delay. Could Helldivers be their own worst enemy?

Helldivers 2 Players Fear They Caused a Delay

So, as you probably know, the latest MO made Helldivers choose between saving Moradesh from the Meridian Singularity and protecting the Deep Mantle Forge Complex on Claorell. Helldivers sort of inadvertently chose the latter. Even though they managed to defend (or rather take back) Claorell, many are just realizing that it was maybe a bad choice.

Why? Well, the briefing that arrived after this victory disappointed quite a few players. The High Command explained that they had intercepted messages during the Automatons’ retreat. The bots were basically planning to use the Forge to replace the Jet Brigade with a new unit, “even more unthinking and vicious”. However, since the Helldivers managed to keep Claorell, the bots will have to find another way to mass-produce their new units.

As for the other option, Helldivers failed, which allowed the Meridian Singularity to accelerate toward Moradesh. The scientists who were working on some new Dark Fluid technology had to leave their posts and evacuate the Research Facility on Moradesh. Everything they have worked on, as well as the planet, will be destroyed.

The MO victory might cause the delay of new content in Helldivers 2.

Only the Devs Can Delay the New Content

So, to summon it up! Helldivers 2 players won, but by doing so they probably managed to delay the new content. And lots of it, new bot units, a possible new technology (Dark Fluid Jet Packs, anyone?), and maybe even the new Illuminate units. Of course, the High Command only hinted at that, but many players were quite disappointed.

One player, notandvm, noted: “Really hoping the Dark Fluid experiments being “destroyed along with the planet itself” doesn’t actually mean we’ll never get to see what they were cooking. Otherwise, man, this result does kinda suck a little bit. We could’ve possibly had new weapons or strats and an entire new subfaction of bots to try them out on”.

Well, some players strongly disagree with this stance. Sure, the High Command hinted that the players lost out on new content, but don’t worry. Can you imagine devs at Arrowhead working hard on creating new content, and then scrapping it all? Of course not! The devs are just as excited to give players new content as the players are excited to get it.

So, dear Helldiver, enjoy the lore, but when it becomes too much, remember that real people are working on this game. We’ll be diving on Vog-Sojoth while we wait for the new MO, will you join us? For Liberty and Super Earth.
