A new event means a new reward! This time, the Marvel Rivals developers decided to reward the players with a new Costume for the Black Widow – Mrs. Barnes. The trailer for this new skin is out, and the devoted community has a lot to say about it.
Devs Announce the New Black Widow Costume
On March 6, the developers shared some more info on the new skin on Discord in a post titled: “A Widow’s Vow – The Legacy of Mrs. Barnes”. The devs noted: “Step out of the shadows and embrace the legend of Mrs. Barnes, Black Widow’s latest exclusive costume in Galacta’s Cosmic Adventure! Forged in the world of 1872, where lines between justice and vengeance blur, she carries Bucky’s name but fights on her own terms”.
They elaborated: “Earn this exquisite costume for FREE by diving into the Galacta’s Cosmic Adventure event! The mission begins March 7, 2025, so don’t miss your chance to claim this iconic reward. No past. No future. Only the fight”.
Of course, the Marvel Rivals also posted the trailer that shows this exquisite Costume for Black Widow. The get-up is truly reminiscent of the Wild West and seems to be very high quality and well thought out.

As for the lore behind this costume, one player, GuyMontag95, offered more information. This player stated: “This specific costume is from 1872, which reimagines Marvel characters in the Wild West era. In it, she was actually married to Bucky, however, he ended up dying. Leaving that universe’s Black Widow an actual widow”.
More Marvel Rivals Players Might Pick Black Widow Because of This Skin
Even though the Marvel Rivals community isn’t head over heels for the Black Widow, players truly loved the new Costume. So, they gladly praised the developers for yet another win. It seems that the devs have truly stepped up their game lately!
JunkerQueen4 stated: “Such a sick skin! Too bad she’s not great and I’m even worse with her”. Another player, Evil_phd, joked: “Man, all six Black Widow fans have been eating really good the last couple of events”.
Now, sure, the players have been asking for a rework of this Hero, and hopefully it’s coming. So, it’ll be nice to have an objectively cool Costume for when the Black Widow is a viable choice. In the meantime, enjoy the recently added skins for the Venom and Cloak & Dagger, and see you out there.
