“You Can Play as Whoever You Want to” The Monster Hunter Wilds Community Issues an Important PSA

We live in an imperfect world, unfortunately. Everyone faces some sort of prejudice at one point or the other. Some people face it more often than others. Add the daily stress of living, and, well, everyone needs some sort of a vent, something that can help them relax and unwind. Playing their favorite game after a long day is a vent for many people. However, games don’t always provide the much-needed escape, as some players face completely unnecessary prejudice even while playing a game. So, the Monster Hunter Wilds community spoke up on the matter and issued a PSA. You can and should play whichever character of whichever gender in whichever way you want to.

Monster Hunter Wilds Community Offers Support to All Players Who Faced Prejudice

Creating your character can be extremely fun. You get to personalise every little detail and express yourself. Some model their characters after themselves, others try to recreate someone else’s look, some players just randomize their character. However, the majority of players just go with the flow and pick whatever seems appealing at the moment.

Of course, there will always be someone who “knows better” or who will judge you for your choices, especially in co-op games. In our opinion, that’s completely immature and you should never let comments like these dictate your choices.

Thankfully, the majority of the Monster Hunter Wilds players fully supported this PSA. One player noted: “35y/o married straight male here. My hunter is a short green haired anime girl with big t**s and a plump a**. Because I can”.

Another player added: “I’ve never met anyone like this and if I did, I think I’d block them. Real friends let friends make whatever the hell they wanna make, as long as they really wanna make it”. So, if someone ever calls you out on your choices, ignore them, or, even better, block them.

It’s been a week since this game dropped, and we truly appreciate that the community manages to tackle important topics, even though the players are preoccupied with fighting various monsters. So, enjoy, feel free to express yourself, and see you out there.
